Wild Oats - DVD

Love this movie. It's absolutely wonderful. Hilarious. The cast is perfect.

This was an enjoyable movie all around. I love these two ladies together. I knew when I ordered this movie I was in for some fun. I have to admit the humor was subtle in some respects but very funny. I was pleasantly surprised by the addition of Billy Connolly. I always loved his acting. Without giving too much of the story away lets just say a mistake in life insurance payout sends these two leading ladies to the canary islands to celebrate and have fun. They meet with some trouble towards the end of the movie but it is all hilarious and filled with wit. I recommend this movie highly if not just for Shirley Maclaine and Jessica Lange. It does move slow in some parts but really I could not resist this movie because of the veteran actors.

I sought out this film after having listened to "Above the Line", Shirley MacLaine's highly entertaining book about the making of the film. The book gave nothing away about the film plot, just the cast and filming experiences. Unfortunately I never saw any information on the film's release.Then, lo and behold, it was available on DVD. I ordered it as soon as I discovered it was available. It exceeded expectations and was a delightful counter measure for Covid 19 pandemic isolation ennui. I heartily recommend the film AND the recorded book be purchased as a set. Play the book first, watch the film second.

EXCELLENT entertainment by a few of the best stars ever seen on the screen. Unfortunately my copy could not be seen on the main wide screen TV so we had to watch it on my small office TV BUT by making such a sacrifice we felt we had earned the quality produced by these great stars. Connolly's alzheimer performance highlighted... humourlessly.... a growing modern day health problem that this ageing generation faces..

I love this movie. Just because you got older doesn't mean you can't have a life! Watch this and enjoy the trip!

I honestly wanted to like this movie. But in my opinion, it was like a bad tiktok that made no sense. I'm glad I listened to Shirley's version of the whole debacle. As usual, she assed the problem in making the movie. I was even disappointed by Shirley changing her old stories. In Out on a Limb, she said the book fell off the shelf at the Bodhi Tree Bookstore which was in California. Yet in this story Wild Oats, she claims that even happened in Africa. I trust that her mind is still sharp. Surely she has not fallen victim to age like ordinary mortals we all know and love. All I can say is that Shirley still looks pretty at dinner.

Love the movie, that’s why I had to own it so I can feel good whenever I want to🤗

I watched this movie with my best friend and we loved it. We kept saying that in certain scenes that would be her or me. We laughed through the whole movie. I recommended this movie to several of my coworkers and all my sisters. Truly a chick flick. On my top ten favorites💙💙💙🐨.
