Usually I use a rice cooker made in Japan but cooked with a deep pot is much better.The best way is that using a iron pan with gas. Unfortunately my house doesn’t have a gas stove so this one is very convenient !Heavy but worth it. Wish instructions would have been written not only in Japanese but in English and Spanish.アメリカでおいしいご飯が食べたくて、いろいろ調べてみて、我が家の環境に合うのが岩鋳のお鍋でした。ガス炊きが試したくてカセットコンロを買いましたが、普段はIHで炊くつもりです。初めての鉄鍋の炊飯でしたが、お焦げもできて、魚沼産のお米を最大限堪能できました。お手入れをして大切に使おうと思います。

Glad I bought it. Not as fast as electric rice cooker, but gas has advantages too, like if power is out you can still cook with gas. I did the 3 times heat up with water before I cooked. When I cook with cast iron, I start on low for a bit before I turn up on near high. That is the way for American cast iron, not sure it's necessary for this, but to be safe I do it.I recommend to get this biggest one, because even this one only goes to 5 go max. But you can still do 3 or 4 go if you want. If you have several people sometimes, you better get this big one for the 5 go amount.

Really wanted to like this. The first one I bought had the enamel chipping off of the top of the bowl. Exchanged it for a new one but the 2nd one was even worse. :(.

Certainly for folks who really and truly love short grain Japanese rice it comes out fluffy and glistening wonderful not a cheap pan but it’s quality that will last you will not have to buy another one in your lifetime if you take good care of it we made Japanese style rice with autumn vegetables as well mushrooms Bamboo In a little bit of chicken breast meat very good

This rice cooker require your attention and you need to follow directions. It makes perfect rice every time. Easy to clean and keep seasoned. If you are a fan of traditional Cast Iron cooking look no further. This is the one.

I love it!! I just used it for dinner and it always does the job greatly. The rice taste amazing everytime and it is not too difficult to keep the pot in good condition.
