lightweight and sturdy
Kudos to Buck for this one.I just received this knife. Blade is scary-sharp.Spring is strong - maybe stronger than the spring on my 70's-era Folding Hunter 110. I'm able to open this knife with good control with my right hand (I'm right handed). Opening with just the left hand is going to take some practice, or for the mechanism to loosen-up some. I can open it with my left hand, but I struggle a bit at the point where the knife is about 35% open. I docked it one star on the "ergonomic" rating because - out of the box - I really need to use two hands to open it safely when my left hand is used as the gripping hand.Pocket clip is very secure, and holds the knife so that the rest of the knife is 99% concealed in a jeans-pocket.After having handled only full-weight 110's, this knife is lightweight, and slim. But for the shape and size of the blade, you would never think it was a 110.The axis of the blade is secured by through-rivet that seems to be supported by a steel ferrule. Mechanism is not sloppy or loose whatsoever. Seems plenty sturdy for what this knife tries to be.Excellent value in a knife for the price. And its a Buck, so there is the customer-support (if you ever need it) behind the knife. I really like this knife. Although, I do still REALLY WANT the automatic 110. If only Buck would offer this knife in the lightweight configuration AND with the automatic function. Someday?

This is a good edc knife.
I have the Buck 110 light, in blak plastic. The first one to come out several years ago. This 110 Folding Hunter slim is just that; more slim. It is lighter than the 110 Light and not as bulky. There is not much noticeable differance other that the pocket clip and I really like that. Same sharp blade, very easy to deploy and rugged just like the Light. I really like both knives but I think I will be carrying the new knife as an EDC.I ordered it in red because thatg is the colors of my favorite college football team. The scales are slightly thinner, thus, the lighter weight. Th carry clip seems strong and is very wide and much shorter than most clips. I see this as a plus because is seems to make the clip stronger; it is also deep cary.I like everything about his Buck KNife. It is light, strong, love the color and the deep carry clip. Over all I have to give it an "A+" for everything. I highly recommend it.

Great
I have had a traditional 110 for years and carried in many sheathes. This lightweight version has been riding in my pocket for close to a year now I think and I have no complaints. It's no frills, easy to sharpen when needed and generally a good EDC. I am an industrial controls guy and use it daily.

It's still a good knife, just not as good as it once was
Very good inexpensive knife. Bought it as a graduation present for a young man I know. I have a 110 folder I received upon graduation, mine is still excellent 30+ years later.I went with "modern" materials for his rather than traditional brass and wood, but the feel and build is very good for this price point.I point deduction due to the steel not quite being 110 thick.

New look to an iconic pocket knife
If there is a knife company that knows how to make pocket knives, it’s Buck. Nearly everyone I talk to who owns pocket knives is familiar with Buck knives. The older generations swear by it and its ability to tackle everyday tasks. I owned a Buck 110 hunting knife for a few years but found myself not carrying it often. This was due to its weight and lack of a pocket clip. Overall, it was a great knife and I wanted to every day carry it, which is why I was very happy to see the Buck 110 Slim a few weeks ago.I was impressed by the quality of the knife right out of the box. The edge was shaving sharp and the blade locks positively. There is no blade play whatsoever. The pronounced Thumb studs allow you to open the knife one handed, with either hand. The only thing I would change about this knife to add a metal liner under the polymer handles. I feel like the addition on the liners would provide additional strength to the knife frame. However even without the liners, I am confident that the knife with be able to provide a lifetime of service. With its light weight and deep carry pocket clip, which is one of my most favorite features, this knife will most definitely be carried everyday and see many tasks.Pros:• Lightweight• Deep carry pocket clip• Ergonomic thumb-studs• Positive lock up without any blade playCons:• No metal liners under the handlesOverall I really like this knife, it’s a keeper for sure!

Great EDC work knife
All of the usefulness of a traditional Buck 110, with several important improvements; much lighter, pocket clip and a thumb stud for easy opening. I plan to buy some more to keep in my vehicle and emergency supplies. Highly recommend!

110 Slim -- New, easy open version of a classic!
This is a modern version of Buck's classic 110 folding hunter...Kudos: This little knife is super light (2.8 oz!), has an FRN handle for a good grip wet or dry. Slips easily into a front or back pocket. Sits low. Doesn't broadcast to the world you are carrying a 3.5" blade. The blade deploys one handed - little awkwardly, but it works. It comes razor sharp and with decent steel. The lock up is classic Buck -- strong and the blade doesn't show any wiggle from side to side.Pans: Ergos are definitely 1963-ish (the year the 110 Hunter was invented) and closing the 3.5" clip-point blade is a two handed affair. There's just no way to close it easily with one hand because the blade release is on the back end of the knife. It's a quality USA made pocket knife at a great price point.
