Recorder has been working well
We were asked to buy one of these and we did. It works and seems to work well as we have not been told otherwise. It sounds good to us when practicing so that's it.

Fun, good product.
This product is a good value and fun for a beginner. It came in a nice firm plastic case which is important. Most tin whistles don’t come in protective cases.

Good value
It’s a little breathy but bought it so my toddler daughter could play while I’m playing my Clarke which sounds way better but is more expensive.

Bright tone!
I personally have a hard time playing this whistle. Maybe it's just me. I don't know. I play several different kinds of whistles, but this one is hard to control. You do you. PW9/15/23 edit.I picked it up again. I'm better now. I actually like this whistle now. I think it was my skill level that previously made it hard to control. PW

Made in Ireland
Yes, it's authentically made in Ireland, one of the homes of Celtic music. It's also made of white brass. And that's about the good things about it.The sound is airy. Even more airy than the airy Susato I have. But the main difference is that the airiness in this instrument is not acceptable for my ear. Have I just received a defective product? The Susato Oriole is airy in a sweet pleasant way, and Clarke's Pennywhistle sounds more solid and, well, more Celtic. This is airy where I can't clearly hear the notes I am playing. They seem to instantly dissolve in air. Or should I say: the notes disappear in thin air? No, a lot of air. Airy sounding whistle. I'll just stick to my Clarke and Susato. This one stays in my car.

Too complicated for a 77-year-old.
It was really nice. Just too complicated for a 77-year-ole who is not really a musician. Lot harder than a harmonica.

Unacceptable sound. Poor construction.
I am sadly disappointed with this whistle. Being made in Ireland, I had higher hopes. The D whistle arrived with a lacquer burr on the outside of one of the holes. After knocking it off (carefully), I then played it. OMG, it sounded horrible. Low D would crackle and split and the whistle would rasp and growl throughout both octaves, not to mention the squawks. Then I played C natural. Ouch! That was it for me. The C nat sounded like a strangling parrot, like most narrow tube whistles do, only this was the worst I've ever heard. Unacceptable, and the C nat is so bad that whenever played, it ruined the tune.So I pulled the fipple off and looked inside. There were lacquer ridges inside the tube and plastic shavings and pieces inside the fipple. I cleaned all that mess up and the whistle sounded a little better, but still unacceptable. Having tried everything, the fipple went into the trash and the tube into my scrap pile. The only reason I gave this whistle a 1-star is because I can cut the brass tube up into brass shims and washers. This is the first substandard product that I've ever gotten from Amazon.
