This is the sound you've been missing
Between a splash and a china, this cymbal is unique. Not over powering but a GREAT accent peice. You can't beat the price. Stop thinking you're going to get a purple cymbal, and think about the sound.

Great little splash efx for a great price.
This is a great cymbal. For being 8 in I was expecting it to be a bit higher pitched but it sounds a bit darker than I expected (but in a good way). It sounds like a small china actually. I heard demos on youtube that didn't sound quite like that but it is a nice addition to my set. I do use it stacked with a 10 in splash to get a trashy quick sound with no ring. It is very wavy but I get asked about it by band mates and audience members. For the price its a must have!

I love this little cheap crappy cymbal
This cymbal does what it's supposed to do very well and it's extraordinarily priced compared to other cymbals that do the same thing. That is, add in some nice, 'trashy' articulation to a kit, whether as a standalone or a stacker. For those giving it poor reviews, people need to realize what this cymbal isn't: This is not a splash/crash/china, and it's meant to come warped (more on that in a minute).... the trashformer is best utilized as an effects cymbal for playing accents. The 8" and 10" models are preferred for standalone articulation, but I purchased the 14", which I prefer to use as a stacker for accents and groove illusions. The 14" is a bit loud and washy as a standalone cymbal. However, when playing my 18" Oriental China Trash upright, the trashformer is an excellent stacker to give just enough decay to the China without choking it completely. This is accomplished by the warped design not creating a vacuum. I have tried a number of configurations, and this cymbal really works best when underneath another cymbal, and played upright (as opposed to on top and/or inverted).Overall, I prefer using a trashformer as a stacker compared to the new fx line from Zildjian, which I think is ultimately a miss on their part. I do think the spiral stackers also accomplish this quite well, and can't wait to try a 12" spiral on top of my 14" Trashformer.

Great additions
bought this intending to use it on its own as trashy effect, but it is a bit loud for what I wanted. stacked it on a 20" High China and love it - gives a much more focused and trashy sound. Then bought the 10" and it is great on its own - quick trashy splash/crash .for the money, both great purchases

It was fun while it lasted!
This is a fun effect, but keep in mind. It's pretty thin and if you hit it hard, it's gonna break. Granted, I may have loved it a little too much, but it still broke in about a week.
