Really awsome guitar. Really happy with purchase. Highly recommend
I love Washburn guitars. You get a lot of value for your money. This guitar jumped right to the front of the line. This particular guitar plays so nice. Also looks and sounds great. I have played many types of guitars and own 10. In my opinion I would prefer over any Taylor or Martin that I have payed that were 3 times the cost. The spalted maple sides and back are beautiful as is the cedar top. Awesome warm sounding and exceptional playing instrument. I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a top flight guitar . The electronics are top notch as well. Only knock is its made in China. But they make quality instruments for sure. You would pay 3 or 4 times more for this quality from any other brand. I highly recommend.

Very very happy
This guitar is gorgeous and sounds incredible.I just unboxed my new Washburn WCG66SCE-O about 2 hours ago and I am amazed. It's perfect right out of the box.I just tuned up and started jamming.I got a "blemished" second from Butler Music for a major discount and I can only guess that the flaw is in the grain pattern on the cedar top..?? It has a little ripple to it which i think is typical of cedar. I can't find any real flaws in workmanship. The details and finish are way out of this price range.Beautiful! And worth every bit of the MSRP.The back and side grain pattern on mine is much better than the one in the ad picture.Really cool..The tone and playability is also as good, right out of the box.I don't know if the guys at Butler Music did a set-up on it or not. But I doubt it's part of the bargain...idk...I grew up playing my dad's '63 Gibson Southern Jumbo and I can't remember ever playing another guitar with such tone and balanced resonance. This Washburn is very similar.I own and perform on a few different Ibanez and Ovation acoustic electrics. I've always been more of an electric player (335-LP, etc). The acoustic performances have advanced to the point it was time for me to upgrade.Wow!The tone is warm and clear but not overly bright and shimmery; very loud. Powerful.I hear and feel 6 distinct notes resonating evenly for so long it's like a piano.Very well built instrument! The action is as it would be after a general set-up. I may or may not opt to have the nut and saddle adjusted..?? Doesnt need it but mmmmmaaaaybe...All the frets are perfect too.No sharp edges or overhangs.I haven't bothered to plug it in yet.I'm too in love with the unplugged acoustic.I'll post pics and updates after I try out the Fishman electronics.(I expect to be very impressed)If you're on the fence, I can tell you I've NEVER been so happy with a guitar purchase, and I look forward to this being my main acoustic fromnow on.

Hidden gem
Very pleased with this guitar. Sounds better than other more pricey options out there. Well worth it for the sound quality alone but the woodwork and build quality are just as good.

Washburn acoustic
I ordered one of these guitars back when they were sold for $850. They weren’t worth that price and definitely are not worth the jacked up price of $1050!They play about as good as any entry level guitar and sound like its being played through a tin can. The only thing it has going is, it’s comfy to play and the materials look nice..

String action too high
Like the tone and look of the guitar, but the string action is much higher than the enclosed QC card. At 14th fret my 6th string measures 3.5mm vs. QC card of 2.0mm (no bend in neck). Disappointed it left Washburn factory in this state, and have had no response contacting customer service on their website.Must now pay a local guitar shop to modify the saddle.

Beautiful Guitar. Saddle adjustment and Bright Strings make it exceptional.
Right from jump, you open the case and see this gorgeous guitar. It really is the most beautiful guitar for under $1000 that I've ever seen. The wood grain, binding, and small details in the rosette are very nice. The contrast between the side tonewood and the body tonewood and the back tonewood make it look fanstastic. However, the variability of these woods and resulting resonance do tend to muffle the guitar a bit with normal strumming and picking. Don't get me wrong. The guitar can get plenty loud if you push it like I do. But you can play with a subtlety that you can't with some other guitars. And maybe that's not a bad thing. With bright strings (I lean towards 80/20 Elixir Nanoweb for long life) you can get a more balanced and projected sound with more detail than you typically would with some other strings.I found that the battery life is "iffy" like most acoustic guitars with tuners built in. I don't understand why it's so difficult for manufacturers to remove the battery from the circuit when it's not in use. I know it would cost another $5.00 and some additional engineering during manufacturing to add a proper switch, but I think most customers would be O.K. absorbing that cost to not have a battery that they used only a couple times, fail when they need it.Back to the guitar....The action is kind of high from the factory. It's not a neck problem so that's a good thing. It really is as simple as sanding down the saddle. There are many, many tutorials on the internet that show how to measure the action, how to determine how far down the saddle needs to go and how to mark the saddle and sand it down the height you need for the most efficient and playable action. It's not difficult. You just need to put a little time into it. It's a good exercise for learning how your guitar works, and it's a good time to put better strings on as well. The tuners aren't the greatest in my opinion as they have a bit of a "carbon" or Satin feel to them. But they compliment the look of the guitar completely. They work smooth enough and in two years they haven't given me any problems. But they aren't Schallers or Sperzels.Fishman Presys+ pickup system is fantastic. It picks up well and presents a great sound that isn't super bright but more "chewy" and full but still detailed. It's largely representative of the overall sound of the guitar. Which is to say that it's a bit on the mello side. It isn't loud, but the resonance is good. I love it.The cutaway for higher fret access is nice. I have it on another acoustic and although I thought I'd never use it originally, I've found that it's invaluable to an electric guitar player who switches back and forth between instruments. The other cutaway, is the body modification that allow for resting your arm on the body of the guitar. The angle that is cut into the body is a godsend. The sharp 90 degree angle on most guitars becomes painful occasionally on some acoustics, especially bigger dreadnought guitars with big bodies, for smaller players or those with a playing style that doesn't lend itself to throwing their entire arm over the top of the body, or when sitting to play. It's supremely comfortable and allows you to play for extended periods of time beyond what you normally might be able to do.The overall feel of the guitar is of typical weight, but very solid feel. It just feels like a quality instrument that will stand the test of time. This isn't something that will fall apart on you as it ages. But it also doesn't feel like a guitar that will change acoustic properties as it ages. This will be the good ol' reliable guitar that will play the same everytime you pick it up. There is nothing else at this price right now that compares with regards to the beauty of the product or the little extras that make it a special guitar. If it said Martin or Taylor on the headstock and was manufactured in the USA, it would be a $3-4k guitar absolutely.Get past the denigration of where it was manufactured and just listen and feel how it plays. Make those minor adjustments, and you will have a unique and highly playable secret weapon in your arsenal. You'll draw the attention and admiration of other guitarist by going outside the mainstream.
