Quality, reasonably priced mechanical HDD
A typically good quality, affordable mechanical HDD from Seagate.Since one of my old small internal HDDs decided to wave the white flag after 14 years of use & 3 different PC builds (I can't complain), and currently being 'of limited means' I needed a reliable, well-priced replacement -preferably significantly larger & faster. This 2Tb Seagate model fit the bill perfectly; a standard, well-understood and engineered drive that is bought and used by many people for good reason. The spec. on these BarraCuda drives is good -not spectacular / 'high-end', but it isn't supposed to be: they're designed to provide people with a decent-capacity, solidly specified mechanical HDD at an affordable price, and have built a formidable reputation as exactly that.Supplied in the usual box and anti-static wrapping, the BarraCuda gives a good impression, nicely built, with a natty green label. Installation is exactly as you would hope / expect and as plug & play as any internal drive can be: fix into appropriate bay, plug in leads, and, as relevant, get your OS to assign a drive letter, format & off you go. In use, I've found it quiet, with good access time and no sign thus far of any reliability issues -exactly as you would hope. Since my ancient desktop (almost a decade old now) has another very elderly HDD installed which I use purely for storage, I'll be buying another of these BarraCudas in the next couple of months as a preemptive measure and capacity / speed upgrade.Does exactly what it's supposed to do / says on the tin: a good HDD at a decent price. Recommended.

A Reliable Upgrade for My Desktop
I recently upgraded my desktop PC with the Seagate BarraCuda 2TB hard drive, and I couldn't be happier with the results. This drive has given my aging computer a new lease on life. The 2TB capacity is perfect for storing all my files, games, and applications without worrying about space running out. The 7,200 RPM speed ensures fast and smooth performance, and I've noticed a significant improvement in load times for games and software.Installation was a breeze, and it seamlessly integrated into my system. The 64MB cache keeps everything running smoothly, and I've experienced no issues with data transfer or storage.Overall, the Seagate BarraCuda 2TB internal hard drive has breathed new life into my desktop, providing ample storage and reliable performance. If you're looking to upgrade your computer's storage, I highly recommend this drive. It's a cost-effective solution for anyone in need of extra space and speed.

Great for casual archival and data dumps
Bought 2 of these to replace older drives, they were easy to install and slimmer than the much smaller capacity drives they replaced. Initial performance seems ok, write speed to a clean drive isn't the fastest but acceptable. These drives are SMR, good for write once read many situations (videos, pictures, old games) but don't use them for data that requires frequent writing/rewriting. Don't put them in RAID or a NAS. Quiet and cool when running but quite loud and slow to wake up, they added a few seconds to my boot times and can briefly hang Windows Explorer when waking up. You get 7.27TB of usuable space after formatting. You only get a 2 year warranty so keep that in mind.

Great for the archive!
I dabble here and there in content creation and I found my hard drive would fill up very quickly when encoding videos at a high quality. I have found this product to be a great way to solve the problem I was having. I've now used this drive for almost a year and it has been nothing but consistent. Files load fast (not SSD speeds but that's to be expected) and transferring large quantities of files between drives has been quick and painless. For gaming, this drive is adequate but you wont find the blistering speed you'd expect with M.2 NVMe drives.I would recommend this drive for storage more than anything else, but that doesn't mean that there is no versatility to this HDD. It's a great quality product, quick to setup, and I've observed no drive errors in the time I've owned it.If anyone gets this drive, installs it, and can't see it in your list of available storage, make sure you format and mount it using Disk Management on Windows devices.

Perfect 8TB Hard Drive For Extra Storage In My PC
I required additional storage and decided to go for the Seagate FireCuda as I wanted CMR and not SMR (shingled). My reason for this is that I do Photography and Video Editing, as such I will be reading and writing to the drive with many edits and not just as storage, archiving. I do additionally have other drives to backup my internal drives.I have used Western Digital and Seagate for many years and in that time I have only ever had one drive fail, and that was due to a a heavy item falling on the PC causing the heads to skip and damage the HDD platter. When you receive the drive you can check on the Seagate website using the serial number, this will tell you your warranty period; which for this drive is 5 years and 3 years for the recovery service. The drive also gives you manufacture date. You can also download from the Seagate website SeaTools, you can run this to check status of your drive and run long tests, repair etc. Another free tool you can use is CrystalDiskInfo which will also give you drive status information, these are in addition with Windows Tools or the operating system you use. With regards to installation, I am lucky as my PC has a front loading slide in drive bay so I did not need any SATA cables. Please be aware if you need to install internally and do not already have cables you will need to purchase separately, This is also the case if you need a HDD cradle (mounting kit).Very pleased with the HDD and performance, long may it last, please last a very long time, pretty please.
