Q: Anyone upgraded to procen 2000 from 1000? found good deal for whole procinema 1000 but if itemized to get the procen 2000, its $300 more. worth it?

I have the Procenter 2000 but did not upgrade from the 1000. I listened to the 1000 but didn't feel like it was strong enough for my tastes. I like the 2000 but feel like I have to drive it slightly harder than I'd like to, which really isn't that much. I think the 2000 is a good speaker and worth the money and believe you'll be happy with it if you decide to go that way. For comparison if your budget isn't too tight I'd also look at a Paradigm center speaker. They cost more but are also an excellent choice.

Q: how does the Definitive Technology ProCenter 2000 center channel speaker compare with the Definitive Technology Mythos 3 center channel speaker?

I have only auditioned the Mythos speakers and never owned them. But I'd say that you'd be splitting hairs to find much different with regard to accuracy fullness. I will say that the Pro-cinema series speakers are catered to those who favor the brighter side of sound. If your looking for warmth you gotta spend more gunnies. I use the Pro Cinema 2000's for my Home Theater, I have a pair of Mirage OMD-15's for music.

Q: Does extending the center leg aim the speaker upwards or downwards? I have to place this above my TV unfortunately and I need it to aim downwards.

This center speaker has a rounded back. It leans backwards and points upwards. There is a leg - a screw - in the back that raises the back of it. It eventually points straight ahead if you raise the screw far enough. The problem you will have with this center - the problem I had - I mentioned this in my review - is that the weight is mostly in the front and if you're not really careful with the leg it falls over forward. You cannot point this thing downward without using something to hold it. I could not even get it to point straight ahead without falling over forward and yanking on the wires. I sent mine back. I ended up with Sonus faber instead. My Sonus faber center has a rounded back too but I have no problem with it falling over forward.
