Barbie Silkstone Lingerie 3 Mattel Doll

Silkstone Barbies are dolls preferred by Barbie Collectors. The Lingerie Barbies were originally started to use as muse model dolls for the Elite Barbie Designer Fashions. Even though Barbie/Mattel no longer makes the Lingerie dolls - Mattel still makes Silkstone dolls ,which define the essence of the Muse for true Barbie Collectors and Fans over 18 years old. These dolls are in Limited Edition Collector's category, meaning they are hard to find! Most importantly, the silkstone doll was made to replace the porcelain doll. If you have porcelains keep it. When I inquired about the new porcelain doll coming out- a Barbie spokesperson said, "They have found the Silkstone holds up better for collectors ,who want to display designer fashions. They added- however, at Barbie we say" never to say never." If you are lucky enough to buy a Silkstone Lingerie Beauty keep it safe!

Doll and box both had evidence of being stored in a hot attic. Box was discolored and rubber band in doll's hair crumbled into bits when I removed her from box. However, I guess you get what you pay for and she was the lowest price #3 when I purchased her. I re-banded and restyled her hair and because her lingerie is black, not white or cream, it had no heat caused color fade/damage so I didn't return her.

A stunning doll, lingerie made very well. Love that it is one of the first (3rd) Silkstone dolls by Mattel. I don't like the articulated dolls, so I looked for this early one and am happy to have found her.

Awesome doll. As with a lot of dolls of this age... be careful removing her from the box as the rubber bands in her hair will need replacing. All in all debox and enjoy!

this barbie is great. i am a collector. i need the fist two of the lingerie collection and i will have them all.
