I bought a used radio that did not have a charging cradle. This works fine. I use it several times a week.

Works perfectly for my Yaesu VX-6R. Can also charge my spare battery without having to be on the radio. The mounting screw holes are a nice touch.

Review date: 1-23-2024. Revision: A.Good:So far so good. This is one rare case were the aftermarket version, works better than the original.BTW.If the battery won't run the radio. And that same battery won't charge. This means you've over discharged the battery.If you over discharged the battery, then leave the overly discharged battery, in the radio. Move the chargers cord from the charger, to theRadio, wait for, "now charging" to show up on the radios display. Let it charge for at least one minute. Reconnect charger cord back to the charger. Now the battery should charge. If not, repeat, but leave the battery in the radio for 10 minutes or longer. In some unusual conditions, sometimes the battery needs to be left in for overnight charging.Bad:The charger cord is kinda short in length.

Garbage. Plug would not fit into base completely. Would not charge VX6r.

The contacts on the base do not align with the Horizon radio I have but I can still use the charger to plug into my original base so it is workable. Not a bad quality and I think the base is as heavy as the original Standard Horizon.
