Monitors my coffee bean temp in corn popper
Using it to monitor coffee roasting temps in a corn popper that I use to roast coffee beans.Works GREAT at a very reasonable price.

Convenient, consistent, good value
I bought a pair of the T-PRO K-Type Sheathed Thermocouples to use with the Omega HH520 four-channel handheld data logger thermometer. To check for consistency, the two thermocouples were placed in close proximity in air, in water, and in my palm. The temperature readouts from both thermocouples were consistently within +/- 0.1°C from each other. This is more than good enough for the project I was using them for. However, I didn't check for absolute accuracy, which will require an independently calibrated temperature gauge to compare. The thermocouples were also quite sturdy, surviving a few drops and one unintentional bending. The length of the included extension wires (6 ft) were more than enough. The most convenient feature, I think, is the included locking nuts along the shank. The nuts allowed fixing the thermocouples to the wall of the container in my experiment rather easily. Once I figured out how far in I want the tip to be in, I marked the shank with a black electrical tape. After screwing the nut onto the side of the container, I inserted the thermocouple through the nut until I reached the tape. Then it only took a couple of 12 mm wrenches to lock the thermocouple in place by counter turning the two nuts with the wrenches. After the experiment, the thermocouples cleaned off easily and ready for the next experiment.

Missing the ferrule
The fitting is supplied without a ferrule which makes it useless. The thermocouple appears to work well.

Good price and accurate
For the limited testing I've done with it to date it has been accurate. I'm looking forward to pushing it to much higher temperatures in the coming months.

Works perfectly!
Finally got to use this and it works great! I needed something to measure the temperature inside my kiln and this probe is long enough to be able to fit inside the vent hole, go all the way to the bottom of my kiln shelf, and still be far enough above the vent hole as to not melt the plastic plug where the electric prongs attach. (I am sure there is a proper name, but, it escapes me at the moment;)The probe that came with my original pyrometer (Purchased through a professional Jewelry and artist supplier) melted and made a big mess of the kiln vent hole not to mention a terrible, toxic stink of the molten plastic.I was SO happy that this one interfaced perfectly with my original one and worked even better!I am not sure what the screw threaded bolt is for...but, I wish there were some type of instructions that came with it to explain. (Maybe someone reading this can tell me?)

customer service does not exist
note the product does not contain all the parts pictured. The company t-pro does not respond to emails sent to the address on their card that comes with the product. Your only option is to suck it up or send it back and stiff amazon for the crappy company service

Pretty good thermocouple
This thermocouple was as accurate as one would expect from a K-Type thermocouple. I tested it with icewater and boiling water. It was within 1degC, which is the tolerance. The two threaded pieces it comes with are a compression fitting. They clamp down on a ferrule (not visible in the Amazon product pics) to hold the metal rod at a given depth/distance. The other part of the threaded piece is a 1/8 Male Pipe Thread. I found a 1/8 FPT/FPT coupler from a home improvement store, and was able to secure it in a thin aluminum sheet (toaster wall for a soldering oven). I included a washer (from memory it was a 1/2" washer) to take up the slight looseness in the FPT/MPT mate.

Perfect. Adjustable length makes it usable in many applications
I'm a homebrewer; previous probe I used was inflexible and a standard length - so if I brewed a lighter mash I had to bend it to make it reach. This is long enough that I can extend it all the way out and bend slightly down for a lighter mash, or pull back if the pot is up to the level of the probe. I like it enough that I'm buying another right now.
