I really like this tool helps get a quick look at the thickness of the brake rotors without removing them.

I ended up purchasing two of these; both arrived without the CR2032 battery, so I guess that's no longer included.The reason I ordered two is because the first one arrived and the case was fractured on the corner. I suspect this was because it was delivered in a bag, not a box. The second one arrived in a box (because I ordered several other items at the same time) and it was perfectly fine.The caliper is very nice quality overall. We aren't quite talking Mitutoyo here, but darn close. Overall, it's very nicely made from what I can see. I checked it using some grade 3 precision gauge blocks, as well as a standard from one of my micrometers, and it read accurately and repeatably every time. I'd say it's probably okay to +/- .0005 roughly and certainly to .001" with any major problem. I purchased mine mainly for measuring connecting rod bolt stretch (see pics attached to this review) and for that it has been working fantastic.The foam inside the case is a little off and doesn't fit totally right, but it's not a deal breaker by any means. Overall, this is a very nice tool and works well. The LCD screen is very clear and readable and the buttons are very nice too. 5 stars for sure.

Pictures made me believe it was able to measure brake rotor through the rim. It does measure without taking off the wheel but you'l still need to lift the vehicle or somehow get behind the tire to get into the rim and rotor. It actually is nice and compact tool about 8-10 inches or so ( i didn't actually measure). I've used it twice (I got it today) and it's super handy and I don't need to zero it every time I grab it like any cheaper ones. I only minus one star because upon opening the carrying case to inspect the tool it was jammed into eachother and I had to force it open. I have no idea if this affects the reading, I don't have the most accurate tools to compare it to.

These are all machined steel and have a nice heavy feel to them.

I am a master tech at a very busy flat rate shop. This dramatically cuts down time on taking off wheels if I don’t absolutely have to. Very very highly recommended, I was on the fence about buying this for a very long time but trust me, just but it you will thank yourself in the long run. Imagine saving .2 or .3 a ticket, adds up and pays for itself. Just do it

This thing is a real time saver! I used to have to frequently pull wheels when performing brake inspections, but with this jewel, I'm able to measure rotors without wheel removal. Simple to calibrate and use, it even has a HOLD button to record your measurement for those situations where you have to remove the micrometer in order to read the measurement. Every mechanic should have one of these.EDIT: Wanted to include a mention of a complimentary product. Get the Lisle 81850 brake pad gauge to use with this micrometer. Removing wheels to check brakes will be a thing of the past.
