Very nice set. We’ll made. Nice wood case. A bit heavy, probably due to quality tiles and case. Hopefully the handle will hold up. Tiles are not the light plastic ones.

I have been looking for a nice set for a very long time. I have played with other fantastic sets and am somewhat spoiled and did not want to get something cheaply made. This set fit the bill almost perfectly, the case is beautiful and well made! The latches are a little small but work fine and given that it will likely stay in the house most of the time should hold up. The set comes with all of the pieces necessary for all three standard rules Chinese, British, and American versions but the rules that come with it only is the American. That really is no issue because you find those online easy enough. The tiles are well made and are great size and weight and make the wonderful clacking sound when you play with them. The lack of pushers is no big deal I use rulers any way. My only complaint is the choice of design for the Dragon tiles. The White Dragon is fine for the most part except the choice to use a B instead of a P but that is not major. The Red and Green however do not use the standard characters I was use to. Given the Red Dragon Tile is my favorite that was a disappointment but in no way keeps it from being a fantastic product. Well worth the money and 5 stars! Looking forward to a Lifetime of play with it!

I’m so happy I purchased this set. The case is beautiful, tiles are medium size, and the trays are also redwood with a place to keep score. This reminds of my mother’s set.

As some of the other reviewers have noted, I do not consider this game set to be a toy. The review process ask how fun, how educational, how durable "is this toy". It is a beautifully crafted game for adults, not a toy for children.The wood case is just amazing how well built it is and the finish is beautiful. I was impressed with the styrofoam padding in the shipping box to protect the case.The quality of materials and workmanship of the case and trays are surprisingly good. The other thing that surprised me is the solid "chunkiness" of the tiles. I expected them to be light and flimsy, but they are very solid, similar to the old bakelite / catalin sets in feel. The artwork on the tiles is nothing to write home about, and the western numerals could stand to be a bit larger. It is easy to confuse numbers on the cracks for us older players. The betting coins are lame, very flimsy, with a lot of flashing on them, but that is a small matter. All in all this set far exceeded my expectations in quality and beauty, especially the tiles and wooden case.The teaming of Amazon and Yellow Mountain Imports is fortuitous for those of us with more patience than income. I saved over $16 on shipping by using super saver shipping. At over 15 pounds, I was surprised that it qualified for super saver shipping. I have dealt with Yellow Mountain on other products and they have very good customer service.
