It is put on prior to nail polish color. It is a nail strengthener. Because I have gone to a very natural way of life, I don't use it any longer. It didn't really work for me, but I know many others that swear by it. We are all different.

It's kind of a milky color--not clear--not really white---neutral. Hope that helps.

Q: Is this a base coat? Can you apply nail color over nail tek?

It is technically a nail treatment but I also use it as a base coat. I used to use both but found very little difference.

Q: Does this treatment stay on the nail, like a clear coat, or does it get absorbed?

Stays on like a clear coat. I usually put in two coats.
