Q: Can it clamp W beam profiles for hoisting?

I think it will grab up to 1/2” wide. I only use mine to pull sheets of steel out of a pile. No vertical lifting. But it is rated for one ton vertical

Q: Does it work in wet conditions

I would see no reason, why it wouldn't work in wet conditions since its a friction clamp. I use this clamp in my shop all the time and have had no issues.
