I needed the smallest size but if your window is 57 inches, it looks like you would select the next size up (which is for windows that are 36.22 "-61.42"). And you can then adjust it to fit your window size and twist to tighten. It really is very easy to use.

It is almost impossible to achieve. The child window guard is pressure installation and easy to install. I installed it easily within a few minutes alone. But after installing, the window guard was very firm. My husband tried to pull it out but failed . So it is impossible for a child to move or push it unless your child is a Hulk.
