The surprise was the size of this bulb. Since harps won’t fit, the lampshade just sits balanced on the bulb itself. But, if you want a bright 200 w. equivalent incandescent bulb, this is the LED bulb to purchase. Bright, with very little heat output.

I don't know about longevity yet. this thing is big and its bright. I love that it is the white (cool) light; clean light. I've looked all over for the mogul base in LED and this was the ONLY one. I've looked all over creation for a white (cool) light in the mogul base, this again, what the ONLY one. WIN WIN! I only wish they made this cool LED mogul in a 3 way.

I ordered this, received it but I could not get it to function in my Garage ceiling light sockets, thought it was a defective bulb, returned and it was quickly replaced. The replacement also did not work in the intended locations, unsure why as the bulb function in other light sockets. The seller agreed to take the replacement bulb back, full refund even thought the original packaging was discarded. The seller was very helpful in accepting processing a refund. Still no idea why the build did not work, I tried it in at least 4 different sockets, and it worked in one of the 4, a real puzzle to me.

I have been through just about every brand of lamp on Amazon searching for lamps that will last in my fully enclosed yard lights. These do well but they are very large. Not an issue for me but probably won't fit in a porch enclosure of ceiling light fixture. They put out the light they are advertised to putout, and very white at 6500k. Other lamps I have tried do not last very long or flicker like a strobe light.

Not a drop-in replacement for a 200W incandescent light bulb.

I've been gradually replacing all my incandescent bulbs with LEDs, starting with the hardest ones to reach. I use these 200 watt equivalent bulbs in my garage -- they give loads of light, no heat, and they work fine in cold weather. Philips are never the cheapest, but they are well worth it in my book. They also don't interfere with my garage door opener's remote control.

It was far too large for my porch light. It wouldn't even fit into the socket.

Haven’t use it for long enough to judge its energy efficiency and longevity, but the bulb is just so bright!
