Amazing sturdiness and ease to open
Fabulous. Folds flat. It's very sturdy so a little heavy. The neck is accoridan style. The legs are out of the way as they protrude away from you. LOVE IT, WORTH EVERY PENNY.

I have the stand and the case, and they’re a great combination for any gig. Stable, strong, portable.

Best stand ever!
I've been using Ratstands for years. Early models were great and have proven to be durable and road-worthy. This redesign is even better. The tray on the bottom (good for bows and picks) is larger and rough edges are removed. Throw out your collection of crumby portable stands - this is the last one you'll ever need. Other reviewers have noted that the tray can collapse under the weight of a heavy book. Folks, this is adjustable!! Look on the back for the tension adjustment - allen wrench is needed but it's very easy to do.

A work of art to compliment your musical art!! Read on......
This design makes others obsolete. It's stable enough to hold Arban's and Trumpet players know what that means!....Stable!! The telescoping adjustment is smooth, secure and being angled is very helpful when seated. The modern design looks good enough in my new house so that my wife happily let's me keep it set up ready to use and that means way more time behind the horn. I also purchased the clip on light which is equal in all of the above mentioned attributes. Hope you find this helpful in your decision making.

Really cool stand but personally couldn't justfy the price
The main thing that caught my attention with this stand is the way it folds flat. I am a keyboardist and I've managed to make my gear rig pretty portable so this seemed like a fit for me. After giving it a try my general impression of the product is very positive, however two things prompted me to return it. One was that the base of the stand didn't fit well behind my keyboard stand - they interfered with each other so that I had to place the Rat stand off-center. Not that big of a deal, but... The second thing was that I just couldn't justify the price. Taking up less space in storage and when I haul gear in my car is a nice feature, but not quite enough for me. If you have to store and stack a number of stands it might be worth it for you.

Easy to use and store
The stand allows easy adjustments in height, from desk to high/low floor. It can be used with the feet pointed away or toward you, which is nice. The built in pencil tray is handy. I bought two, one fit me (viola) and one for my husband (bass).

Good stand but came apart after 1.5 years of light use.
This is a well designed stand from a design standpoint, useful and collapsible to flat. I have two issues in the 1.5 years I've owned mine with light use. The first, and main issue, is that the base came off the back (part that holds the music). There are 2 small allen screws that hold the back onto the base, and they have sheared off inside the base. I think I can replace the screws to fix the problem. The other issue is that the back became loose shortly after purchase. The back can be tightened with an allen wrench, but there is very little room to move the wrench. It can be tightened, but the wrench must be forced into the plastic a bit to move the allen key enough so that the wrench can be positioned to move the screw further in. It's a slow process.

A great choice.
Light, portable but very sturdy. I was tired of flimsy fold up stands. You’ll pay more for this, but worth it.
