I was surprised at how nice this whiskey was- you definitely get sweeter notes than other brands like JD. I like to have one on a night time and the 50% strength gives it that extra kick that helps me relax. I will definitely buy it again. Great value for money too.

I liked this product wanted to try as it looked interesting and with the high alcohol content: Mellow and strong at the same time, I like it!

What does it look like?Now a lot has been said in other reviews, mostly negative, about what this bottle and its plastic cap in particular, look like. And I must admit, it does indeed look cheap. Yet very cheerful! I actually like its appearance. It’s bright, colourful and eye-catching. In fact it wouldn’t look out of place in a Speedy Gonzales Cartoon. I could also see it in the Mexican section of a supermarket next to the Chili Sauces for under a Dollar, or a quid in the UK. Having said that, the liquid inside is a beautiful, enticing golden colour presumably a consequence of it having been aged in Bourbon barrels.What does it smell like?Not surprisingly, on the nose the first thing I noticed was the sweet and pleasant aroma of distilled corn. Then some alcohol which given its 100% proof rating is not surprising. I also detected some popcorn, sourdough starter and more than a hint of nail polish remover. Overall quite pleasing really.What does it taste like?In order to provide a level playing field I tasted this in the same manner I use with Bourbons and Ryes: a double shot poured over one cube of ice and then allowed to sit for a minute or two before taking a sip. Unlike other commentators, I did not find this liqueur harsh, burning or astringent. I found it very smooth especially considering its strength. Not unpleasant at all. Obviously copious amounts of corn, some popcorn and . . . . well, not much else. I don’t know what I was expecting but that’s about it. Perhaps after receiving a bottle of Balcones Baby Blue (a very fine Corn Whiskey from Texas) for my birthday last year and loving it beyond all other bottles of spirit I tried in 2020 I was hoping, praying for something similar at a fraction of the price. It wasn’t to be. Imagine an inexpensive but acceptable quality Bourbon with most of the flavours removed: to me that’s what Mellow Corn is. Value for money at £30.00 or so? Not quite. If British supermarkets stocked this I would expect to see it on sale for about £20.00 next to the budget or ‘on offer’ Bourbons, preferably on the top shelf, away from young children who undoubtedly find the packaging most attractive! I just need to find some cocktails or a mixer that will work with it.

Extremely reasonable price probably one of the best places to find mellow corn whiskey at this price. Tastewise it's an acquired one. I love the vintage style bottle.The taste is similar to most decent bourbon with a 🌽 after taste. One for the American civil war re enactors that's for sure.

I tried this recently in one of our local bars and had to buy a bottle. I'm getting married in a few weeks and this is going into the hipflasks for myself and my groomsmen. Lovely stuff!

Well worth a try if cheap

I saw this, it looked and sounded a bit odd (partly why I bought it) but bloody hell it's good. You could accidentally drink a whole bottle of this in no time. Would recommend straight, the after taste is nice.

Teaspoon water in a Glass for me, not a Red neck!!!
