Premier Housewares Floor Standing Coat Stand, Oak, 184 cm

I am very pleased with this item, contrary to all the other reviews I do not think it is of poor quality. What do these people want for £24, solid oak and fully assembled? It took me 20 minutes to assemble including unpacking the contents of the carton (I timed myself). The PICTURE instructions were very straight forward to anyone with any practicle knowhow and the assembly was very easy, (yes I did have to use a little persuasion to align the screws with the holes but it was minimal). The whole assembly is tight and stands solid on the floor. The overall effect is that it is of good quality and my wife and I are very pleased with the stand. I fully recommend this item (to anyone with a very basic knowledge of self assembling of furniture.

Bought as a present for my mother, she likes the way it can hold many coats including heavy ones and sits under the open staircase.The dark wood finish is a nice touch and looks great.It has a good weight to it.

It took around an hour for me to put the coat stand up, with not very clear instructions. Once I had put it together, it was great for my husband's coats and hats, it matched the decor which I was happy with, but slightly unsturdy legs.Overall, it was ok but could be better.

I love it, it is light weight but sturdy. It took only a few minutes to put together and looks great as well as being great value for money. There was a mix up in the delivery where I received a wrong item, this was sorted out very quickly with no fuss and the company said for me to keep the first delivery as way of apology. This company was a pleasure to deal with and I wouldn't hesitate to use them again.

I ordered this coat stand on 14/08/2012 but it was not assembled until the beginning of September.I have used it to hang up 2 three quarter length jackets and a dog lead. This evening, 08/10/2012 I heard a loud crack and found my coat stand, coats and dog lead all on the floor. On inspection I noticed that the top vertical section of the coat stand, the one that supports the coat hooks, had a long split in it and will no longer support the hooks assembly.Obviously a product with such short durability and dramatic failure is not fit for purpose.I was lucky that the whole edifice did not tip in the opposite direction, otherwise it could have gone straight through a plate glass window.Premier Housewares have a quality control problem and it would be difficult to persuade me to buy their goods again. It also raises questions about the ability to buy with confidence from Amazon.

So:+not very expensive+looks nice in pictures or when you dont have something hanged on-takes time to assembly and the screws do not fit 100% which is unacceptable-it moves easily around and it is humiliating for visitors to see this in my house.-it falls down easily-very light, cheap and bad qualityConclusion: do not buy it, spend some more money and get a product that will last for years. I am crying for my money that i lost after buying this product.

Pleasantly surprised with how sturdy this turned out given its relative inexpense compared to some of the heavy based coathanger options on here. My only gripe is that an element of the construction is a challenge when putting it together solo. Get a second person though and its tip top.
