An excellent and well set out study of the French defeat in WW2 and the establishment of the early Vichy state. The sometime hostile relationship with Britain following the Dunkirk evacuation and the naval attack on the French fleet were very well set out and explained. Looking forward to the concluding book in this study.

Author is a leading expert on French Army circa 1871-1962 and it shows. A substantive book, you get a lot for your money on matters not always otherwise readily accessible in English language publications.
