My Maxon gmrs 210radios needed new batteries after 20 plus years, decided to replace them with this radio. Very happy with the Samcom radio lineup, the distance, sound and functionality works well for my occasional use.Pros are this radio is compact and well built and surprisingly inexpensive. The display is nice and bright and I don’t like that the frequency is not displayed (only a channel number) versus the other Samcon radios that I own that display a TX and RX frequency number. I did remove the low power FRS frequencies from the radio and only kept the 5 and 50 watt frequencies.Cons, the software for programming the radios is limited. The software works well at connecting to the radio with a kenwood style cable. I don’t like that I can’t program parameters like squelch and power to individual Frequencies as this feature in the software is global to all 20 frequencies. I still don’t understand the power selection there are three levels to choose from one being selectable big / low but no ability on the radio to change the selection.Overall I am getting a good distance and overall performance with this low cost set of radios. Good buy for a nice set of radios.

The radios are very nice. The battery life lasts a long time and they are very clear for a long distance. But, the company’s customer service is the best part.I order this same 3 pack of radios in March of 2021 and recently just bought another pack. When I received the new ones they would not communicate with my old ones because of an update to the frequencies being used. I email SAMCOM about my issue asking if there was anyway to fix this. Their response was very quick and the helped me resolve the issue in a very short time. I will definitely use this company again.

Love the radio BUT..2 of the 3 chargers have quit working

Wanted these for those trips in the woods with 4wheeling. They are okay. Good quality solid built.Range is not the greatest. I don't think you'll find talkies with range greater than a mile here in Amazon.In the city I'll get a range of .25 mi. in the woods more or less .5 mi perfect for construction site though.

I work for a construction company that does concrete demolition with water. The team I am part of used cell phones to communicate when the pumps needed to be turned on or shut down, which was a huge hassle, and could take too long (in case of an emergency).I had a set of these radios that I took on a camping trip a while back, and I loved how easy they were to use, and the fact that they could take a beating.Sound quality is good, our work environment is very loud and you can hear them, and those who couldn’t could use the included earpiece.Battery life is awesome, we have some guys who would forget to charge them for days, yet it was never a problem.As for water resistance, they are indeed water RESISTANT. You cannot submerge these or hit them with high pressure water jets, but I dropped mine in a puddle and simply dried it off (remove the battery and make sure the battery / contacts are dry), and didn’t have any issues.I only wish you could purchase single radios, being as we occasionally have new team members who need one.A great quality product, I can honestly say I’ll continue to use Samcom products so long as the quality stays the same.

The SAMCOM radio works great for me. Radios have crystal clear sound, a good battery life, and more, all at a very reasonable price. SAMCOM is better than most radio companies because it is friendly, honest and doesn't sell inferior products with sub-standard cheap parts.I am glad I purchased a SAMCOM radio. I have received PROMPT replies from SAMCOM support and SAMCOM goes the extra mile with exceptional customer support.I would highly recommend to my family and friends.

they do not work with older models, cannot change the frequency

Product is super easy to use and works well within range. One of three radios had a bad receiver. I contacted the seller and they sent a replacement right away and I received it within a couple of days. Very happy with the product and the excellent customer service
