Blackout Budget Roller Blind compatible with VELUX Roof Windows with size codes M08 / 308/2, ‎Blue

I bought this blind to replace a Velux one where the cord had caught and blind no longer went up. This blind is a perfect fit but uses 3 screws on the sides and not 4 like the original. I didn’t get any screws with the blind but used the old ones without issue. Two screws hold the main blind part up and then there’s only the two sides to slide in and screw to the wood - which will need new holes as not in same place as velux fitting. This is a little fiddly but easily achieved by even a novice. The blind works great once fitted. The mechanism is different to Velux but works well, it just slides in the runners and not on a string / cord. To return to the open position you have to angle the handle which you use to pull it down, which took me a few seconds to work out. Do not try and push it up like the Velux ones. Takes a little readjustment of your usual closing motion but works well when used to it. Total time to remove old and fit this blind was 10mins max. Very easy and a nice well fitting result. Impressed and a great price. Truly is blackout too. I bought the standard dark grey colour as it was the same as the old one and is very smart. Only small complaint is that the blind has slight lines from folding within the unit but that’s nit picking and the blind is a great replacement. Seller dispatch is quick and shipping tracked.

What a great piece of kit, so much cheaper than the Velux blinds, easy to install once you know how, no problem installing the blind mechanism at the top of the window and then the 2 sidebars, only fiddly bit was putting the blind into the side bars however if you view the 1st photo it shows where the runner should slot into the side bar. Quick delivery . Other customers have commentated on the poor instructions also there are a lot of additional plastic fittings and screws which are not needed. Would definitely recommend.

This is a fantastic blind, I was nervous about this fitting as my velux is a GGL2/GGL-2. I read that this should fit and it did! PERFECTLY!It is very simple to fit. There are plastic fixings/guides which are screwed in first, then the blind placed into these and screwed in, then the runners are alligned and screwed in. The notable difficult parts are if you are using a short or chunky screwdriver, the screws are very close and it's hard to screw in straight. An electric screwdriver with extension would make this job much easier. The screws are also not magnetic so holding the runners in place initially while screwing in can be awkward.Despite these minor things, it looks great and was a well priced upgrade for a ~35 year old window! The blind and mount are good quality. There's very little light seeping through, and they fit perfectly.However, the instructions are not only unfathomable, they're actually deceptive - and the videos on the company website show a man with his back to you rather than any actual installation of the blinds.It turns out, they're actually really easy to install. If you've installed one before, it won't take two minutes. But if it's your first time installing a skylight blind, you're going to spend hours trying to follow the unfathomable, misleading instructions.We've just moved to a new house, I've put up sixteen pieces of flatpack, and four blinds (including this one) in three days, and this was the only thing I've had any problems with. It's not like I can't follow a manual, the manual is just the single most incompetent set of instructions ever created since the dawn of the universe. They're even less realistic than a British Rail time table.But again, the blind is fine, and it's really easy to fit once you realise the instructions are a work of fiction, and figure out what you're doing.

Great value for money. Easy to install with a pz2 screwdriver. Fit well. Definitely recommend and buy again if needed.

Easy to install and available in various styles, Quality is very good and excellent value when you compare to an original Velux this is very good.

Fits perfectly for our window & it was a very straightforward, fast installation. Took 20mins max to install two. Works like a charm and blocks out all the light. I highly recommend this!

These blinds fit the window perfectly and are so easy to fit. Morden and easy to use.I had a few problems with ordering the wrong size at first but customer service was top notch. Answered all questions within 24hrs and were so helpful.My advice is to contact them first if you’re unsure of the size and give them the code that’s on the window itself. That way, you know you will get the correct fitting. My windows are old and the sizing and codes have changed slightly over the years. Always best to check.
