Perhaps pricey, but...
...worth it. These come in at nearly $2 a pencil, but there's just something about the marks these leave that makes me love them. Scribing a quick line on some yellow pine just feels nice with these, and the dark matte finish they leave on light wood gives you no doubt as to where your mark is. I've had other flat carpenter pencils before but this is my new go-to for rough cut mark & measure tasks.
