Can be a confusing device, but works great
I am adding two Hybrid inverters to my RV and they need to operate in split phase so they will be compatible with 50A shore power when I plug in. My challenge was that I also have an Owen 5500W generator that has two 120V output legs that are both the same (single) phase. I needed to get the generator outputting split phase so it will be compatible with the system.NOTE: when running a single-phase generator with two split-phase inverters, one of the inverters will shut down. The system works, but it cuts the power output of the generator in half and it slows down charging since only one of the two Hybrid inverters would be charging the batteries (the other one actually draws power from the batteries in this condition). The Victron Autotransfomer solves the single-phase issue by turning a single-phase output into two-phase. The two-phase output can then route to the inverters. They sync with the phases and both will operate normally. Most importantly, they will both charge my battery bank at 120A each! The thing to keep in mind about these AT's is the documentation is not great and one needs to ignore the terminal labels. They are confusing to say the least. I spent hours on forums and troubleshooting to figure this out!I am attaching a picture of my wiring for your reference. The wires on the bottom right are coming in from the generator. The wires on the left are routing out to the Transfer switch and then to the inverters. The red wire that connects to the right terminal is the second output leg of my generator. The red wire to the left of it is the second phase output of the Autotransformer (the first phase of AT actually exits on the left side to the right of the white wires). The two black wires are coupled together with a large wire nut. The black wire on the right side is the primary output of the generator. The black wire on the left routes directly to the Transfer Switch.Note: the reason I bypassed the AT with one of the generator lines is because it can output a max amps of 45.8A. The AT I purchased is 32A. If I were to route the entire generator output through the AT the circuit breaker would pop under a load. I could have solved this with the 100A AT, but that was overkill. I don't need 100A and the boxes are bigger and heavier. The white wires are the generator neutral and output to the transfer switch. I just connected them together using the AT N terminal. The terminals are large and strong. They can handle 2 6 AWG wires no problem.Overall this is a great unit. It is well built, nice looking and versatile. It can do a lot more than I am doing with it for sure. You can't go wrong with Victron gear. Just take your time with the wiring and test everything with a multimeter before connecting to your house/rv/boat/whatever. It is very easy to wire an AT wrong and step voltages up or do something you didn't intend to do.

Very Impressive
I run an off grid Ecoflow system using two Delta Pro units and 2 extra batteries for each (total of 6 batteries) and have them all tied together using Ecoflows Double Voltage Hub. From the DVH, everything is then tied directly into our main electrical panel of our home and then feeds all of the circuits that we need to use t/o the day. Before purchasing the Victron Autotransformer, the Ecoflow batteries would be used up at varying rates, depending on what we were using that day. It was very frustrating because one Delta Pro (with its two attached batteries) would deplete much quicker than the other Delta Pro set to where the entire Solar battery system would prematurely shut down because one set was using supplying more power than the other and would shut down first even though the other Delta Pro set might still have 30% - 40% power left (based on what we were using in our house at the time). Installing the Victron Autotransformer fixed the problem. Now, with the Victron installed, it takes over the energy distribution of all six batteries and orchestrates how each one contributes its stored power based on what we are using. Since the contribution across all of the batteries is now more consistent with each other, we can keep running the entire set up until all of the batteries reach their lower level shut down setting of 10% (as set in the Ecoflow app). It has been a game changer for us and well worth the initial investment of ~$450.00. The build quality is great as is the 5 year Victron warranty. The installation was super easy as the official Ecoflow Facebook group has excellent instructions on how to hook the Victron up when using the Ecoflow Double Voltage Hub. After five months of countinued use, it is one of the best investments that we have made and one that I highly recommend.

Works as intended - very well made
It is a good device, works exactly as intended and it is well, very well made. Why not 5 stars ? Instructions. They are not well written for such a complex product. If electricity is not your forte, then consult an electrician, a good one ! Other than that is great.

Simple conversion to 240VAC
I purchased this item to have the option of converting 120VAC to 240VAC split phase. Simple, reliable, affordable. JB Tools was the vendor and as such provided good service on a previous purchase. The only concern I have is the Autotransformer was slightly damaged in shipment. Not sure if it's a warehouse or carrier oversight. Not worth returning though.

I’m seriously impressed with the quality of Victron.
The media could not be loaded. The Rich Solar H6548 output is 120v and connects to the primary side of a Victron 32a autotransformer, the secondary windings feed my main panel 240v split phase and lets us run a senville 18,000 btu aura heat pump. This combination kept our off grid cabin a comfy 80f on average thru this last big snow storm.Bottom line if you need an auto transformer then buy this without hesitation.*Review pics updated
