Easy to set up DVR for CCTV surveillance.
This DVR was delivered next day after I ordered it, with excellent packaging. It is a modern, sleek design. It was easy to set up. I would have given it 5 stars but it is rather noisy due to the built in cooling fan. That said, as long as you don’t install it in a bedroom it shouldn’t create a problem.

Terrible piece of kit.
I have 5 Hikvision Camera's running on a Synology NAS Server and all run well. I purchased this NVR as I wanted to release some of the resources my NAS was doing and looked at various reviews before my purchase. Having installed it and moving my camera's onto the NVR I immediatly run into problems where I found that the web interface did not give the level of access required to set up the NVR as per instructions supplied, I had to connect a seperate monitor, keyboard and mouse to do this. Connecting the cameras was straight forward and got it running quickly. The quality of the pictures was dreadful both live and in playback on the local monitor, the web interface via my Network was even worse as I got no picture at all out of the cameras due to 'Flash' not being supported on Firefox, Chrome and Opera. To get a video off the system was like extracting teeth where you have to download the video to a USB drive and drop this onto your PC if you want a sepearte copy without having to view it on the sepearte monitor connected to the NVR. I did eventually find a forum which said all this anyway after the event! I thought Hikvison was going to be a premier piece of technology but was dissapointed to find that in fact it was a very poor designed system it is. The web interface is like somethng from 10 years ago and could have been better designed by a college student and that it relies on 'flash' to display video is beyond belief. I wasted £220+ on a useless piece of technology. Someone did say you can manage the NVR via your phone app, which does not interest me, I reinstated all my cameras back to my Synology server which works as expected. I had to give one star as you cannot give less!!
