This storage box is fantastic value, depending on what you use is for. I use it to store towels ,bedding etc. When l put the box together, l put everything together except the hinges , l had no idea how to put them on.. l now have had this for over 2 years, the lid stands up on it's on so l don't have a problem with it. . so if you want to use the box for childrens toys, you need to get the manufacturer's name from Amazon on your order page you can send the seller a message and request complete instructions.

Can this box be painted

Yes but it is solid wood so you would have to use an undercoat first. , it is a lovely piece of furniture.
