This biltong is on the softer/moist chewy tender type. The coriander is nice and reminds me of like a corned beef. The inside is nicely marbled and love the fat cap! Not overly salty or vinegary like others I’ve tried

Wonderful product. Nicely crafted and air dried and comes with instructions on how to keep it dry if you don’t eat the whole thing right away . A paper bag is included with it. The slab is nice with some fat and can be sliced thin for best eating. The flavor reminds me of pastrami (as it must be the spices that are used in the preparation of this product). I highly recommend this and will purchase again. I personally have sliced it thin and have paired it with a nice sharp cheddar.

Its great. A nice beef jerky slab with fat. I think it taste best plain with maybe sliced cheddar. Adding bread hides flavor in my opinio. Slice thin if putting on bread or slow heat with butter to soften it up. Just some tips. Prefered just sliced with cheese though

This has that somewhat rubber like texture they all Jack Links meat products have.

I received my package not an hour before I opened it. 35degrees F outside, so I don't think the issue was warm travel or sitting outside. I opened the package to find that there were multiple spots of mold on both side of the slab. My first thoughts were I might just cut out the bad parts since this is an expensive treat for me. Then I sliced into it. Under normal circumstances I would think a soft tender meat would be a good thing, not in this case. I would have expected the slab to be more dried out and less soft. I am unsure if it is safe to consume at this point.

Product arrived covered in mold. There is no way to contact the Biltong Depot company through Amazon directly so one must go through Amazon’s arduous refund process after being sold a faulty product that is neither safe for human consumption and considered to be biohazard. This is the second time I’ve received bad product from this Amazon merchant- first time they sent the wrong type of Biltong but again, Biltong Depot has no Amazon return process so there was no way for me to get the proper product I ordered. As a consumer and based on the price point of the product, one would expect much better quality control from a company affiliated with a large corporation like Jack Links beef jerky but that is not the case. Go with more reliable Biltong brands like Bledie Lekker, Stryve, or Ayoba so you can avoid opening a bag of moldy disappointment!
