Provoked: A massive provocation to the mainstream narrative
Scott Horton is clearly an American patriot who wants the best for the American people. Which is why he takes almost 700 pages and uses thousands of references to unpick the disingenuous mainstream narrative about the Ukraine war.Whether you believe, after reading this book, that the war was provoked or not matters less than the realisation that most of what is written about this war is simply BS. It's no wonder the mainstream media is distrusted.Horton assumes the role of Addison de Witt in highlighting not just lies but stupid lies, not worthy of the people and publications that promote them. The US has truly acted as a 'rogue superpower' in this conflict and hopefully Trump will manage to end this war somehow despite the usual opposition to anything he tries to do.Personally, I like the way that Horton calls liars liars and nonsense nonsense. No pussyfooting around in this book. He clearly documents that the asylum is being run by the lunatics.Calling the book 'Russian propaganda' is such an obvious smear that it's laughable. But what is going on in the Ukraine is not funny and needs to be stopped before it leads to much more devastating consequences for all of us.

Exactly what I expected...hrilliant

From the beginning.
If like me you have read a few books on this conflict, that generally start around 2014, then Scott Horton takes you all the way back to the early 1990's. This is tome of information, which if read cover to cover will require a great deal of mental fortitude. I must confess that I use it as a indispensable reference for any points that have not been covered in other books or require a more detailed explanation. So if you suspect that the political machinations of the West have been misleading, then this book will set you straight.

This is not Russian propaganda
One reviewer insults this book by calling it Russian propaganda. It is the opposite - an extremely well researched and referenced book that tries to tell the facts based primarily on Western sources. If those sources, often from actual participants in the attempted destruction of Russia, constitute propaganda, then the word has lost all meaning. If, on the other hand, you really want to know why the war in Ukraine became inevitable from a Russian point of view, this book does an outstanding job of explaining the history. If you prefer to believe that the history between Ukraine, USA and Russia started on 24 February 2022, the date the Special Military Operation was launched, then don't bother reading this book and informing yourself.
