I cut myself badly and blood was pooling on the floor. I cut a piece of this bandage and applied it to my wound. It immediately stopped bleeding and there was no more pain from the cut. It's amazing.

I have ordered this product in the past. Only had occasion to use it once and it worked well. Nice to keep around.

A must-have for any first aid kit, especially for those on blood thinners. This product effectively controls bleeding, even in challenging cases where traditional methods fall short. Provides peace of mind in emergency situations.

Package is small - I would advise buying in multiples.Well this is one of those items that's hard to review because you won't know until it's needed, and there is the hope that it won't ever be needed. That said, I got one for me, and one for my son's prep efforts. He does events to educate people on how easy it is to obtain basic items like this that one may not necessarily think of - but they're darn glad to have if they can save a life. Me, I keep it in my car's first aid kit. Never know when there will be a roadside accident where I might be the only one there until help arrives, but beyond that, this could be used in so many scenarios, from a chef's kitchen for knife cuts, to cutting off a small length for a bloody nose.At any rate, for the inexpensive cost, this is something I'd highly advise keeping on hand at home and in your vehicle because in life, you never know when you'll be the difference in saving someone's life.

This Turkish Dressing from MEDCLOT is a great item to have on hand for severe wounds + with proper training. First responders, wilderness medicine, military, x- military … likely already have some of the basic training to use this product. Anyone deciding to buy this because it would be good to have on hand - with no training in this type of bandage - should seek training or at least online tutorials.Having prior training, I still decided to watch a couple online videos to be sure I was still up to date and hadn’t forgotten anything that could hurt myself or the person I wanted to help.I am not able to determine the exact ingredients that are applied to this bandage or the powder that is in this pouch. Based on the information I found online in the videos and from prior training - If this product is still the same as what the Turkish military used a number of years ago, and for the sake of comparison, there are several precautions to observe.If the pouch is improperly opened, the powder in this pouch can cause severe eye problems and possibly blindness. My research shows when I open this pouch, to never open the it near my own face or the face of the person I am helping.The online directions I found also caution. - after applying - I should not touch my face or my eyes before washing my hands thoroughly.On the pouch I received, the inventory sticker from Amazon was covering the production and expiration date. Removing the sticker, some of the words were lifted but most of the words and numbers are still legible ( see photo).I appreciate the opportunity to have this product and to review it. I hope my thoughts, photos, and research help someone.

I have been slowly adding to my first aid kit over the years (slowly because some of these items can be expensive), and I am pleased that I was able to add this Medclot Quick Clotting Gauze to my kit.Thankfully I haven’t had to use it, but it came well sealed with an expiration date, and it is small and thin enough to put in a pocket while going out on a hike or bike ride.Reading the instructions for this product, it seems pretty easy to use, but in another review I read, the reviewer stated that getting training on using it, or at least watching some videos is a good idea. So I will definitely be doing that. I hadn’t even thought about any chemicals leaking out when opening the package, and it getting into my eyes or the person I am helping.I appreciate that it can be used on humans or animals, and that it doesn’t contain shellfish or human/animal proteins so it’s safe for all to use. Having it on hand helps with my peace of mind.

The order I received was expired. Check the date when you receive your order to make sure it’s usable. Shelf life = 5 yrs.
