This is my second Ove Glove
This is my second Ove Glove. I purchased one several years ago. It has worked out just fine. It protects my arm from being burned on the oven racks. Since the old one was now soiled and stained, I purchased another one of the same brand. It is identical to the first one that I loved, except it is only 2/3 as long as the old one. But that is still long enough to provide protection from burns.

Works as expected... no burns and didn't smoke! ...
Works as expected...no burns yet! These shields are too short to cover an entire rack with one shield so we have the two of them on a single rack.At this time, not likely to need a shield for the lowest rack.Other than a single rack requiring two shields (which I knew about from other reviews) there's been no issues with this item. I wore NOMEX for decades and can't imagine what would have caused another user to experience a smoking oven. The OVE GLOVE Oven Rack Shields we installed did not smoke. Just have to remember to remove the Rack Shields before the next self-cleaning cycle because the shields were not designed for those very high temperatures.

Clumsy people lifesaver, great for hot-swapping oven racks
I got these for a relative who was getting a little forgetful, thinking they might help if she forgot to use a pot holder. She reported that they saved her from "accidentally" burning herself when she reached under the rack to stir a lower rack item as well. Since I've done that a few times (I don't need a potholder just to stir that, right?? oops) I got some for myself as well. I found it a little tricky to get them snapped on at first, but once I did so, they've stayed on. They will get dirty, but I don't really care about what my oven racks look like! What is nice is that I can move the racks around even while they're hot, if I'm careful and use pot holders. For busy kitchen days like Thanksgiving, this is a lifesaver. (Make lots of room for the turkey, but then you want to put both racks back in for the side dishes...)In short, it's a cheap way to save yourself a few glancing burns. If you're a little clumsy in the oven or know someone who is, consider these easy burn prevention.

Pleased with my purchase.
If you use your ovens a lot, it's easy to accidentally touch the edges of the shelves and get a slight burn. I have used this type of rack shield for many years and find they really serve their purpose. One thing: they are washable; however, I would advise washing them before they get too "browned", otherwise, they will be clean, but the brown color from many hours in a hot oven will not go away.

They work great
This is my second set. I thought I just reordered what I did before but these were shorter than the first pair I got. They still work fine. They are washable but over time they just need to be replaced. You can flip them over to extend the use but they eventually get charred looking. I still recommend them highly as I haven’t been burned once since installing them!

No more burns
I used to burn my wrists or arms pulling things out of the oven but this shield protects my arms if I happen to reach to far in and keeps burns from happening.

Excellent safety item!
Who hasn't had a nasty burn on the wrist from brushing it against the top oven rack when removing the hot item from the lower rack? You don't really need to put one of these on the bottom rack, unless you're brave enough to try to use it as a handle for pulling out the rack (maybe you could, but I'm not recommending it), so we gave the second one away. We bought these for all our family members and elderly friends. One word of caution: with this in place, the food won't slide off the rack as before since it will bump up against the shield, so you need to lift the hot food up to remove it, and if the food is at all liquidy, take care it doesn't splash and burn you.
