We are building a train table and the thomas and friends engine would slow everytime I ran over the powered insert. I had a feeling I wasn't getting enough metal to metal to keep a consistent current the whole way around the track. Got this and it works beautifully. Maintains speed consistently and goes much faster than the engine I was testing the track with. The only worry I have is the connection between the two is a thin flimsy plastic connector. It looks like I could sneeze and create enough wind to break it. Otherwise, great little DC tram.
