Be aware Japanese steal is somewhat brittle and can chip if not handled with care

Great value
My son has worked as a sushi chef and every time he comes visit, my friends are begging to have a sushi party. He has his own set of expensive knives that he won't bring with him on the plane, so I essentially bought this knife at his recommendation to have on hand for when he visits and wants to make sushi for me. He is kind of a knife snob and was impressed with the quality of this knife for the price. I really should learn how to use it myself!

Knife is so light it feels like a toy knife, where the handle and the metal meets, it’s not flushed, I can feel the metal on the handle, very uncomfortable, looks like a mass produced knife where each work has just but one job and the one who put the handle together just didn’t care, no quality check.
