Q: Are these golf ball size or larger?

I'd say they are. They are as nice as they look in the picture. They are strong as well. I had to keep the box in the plastic until I gifted away.

Q: Can these be used in the shower as “shower steamers”? Or bath only?

I suppose you could try. I bought them for a friend. She does baths more than showers.

They definitely did not float and were not especially fizzy. They dissolve quickly with nice and subtle scents.
