Excellent 'oriental' EDP
Confession: until a couple of weeks ago, this one had completely passed me by. It was only a chance-stumbling across some on-line reviews that I started to take note.Once upon a time, I had a signature scent. It was Crabtree & Evelyn's magnificent Sienna, occasionally supported by their equally-good Nomad when they happened to be out of stock. Since the unfortunate (and completely unnecessary) collapse of C&E, I've settled on Bronnley's superb English Fern as a daily replacement, with occasional outings for a few others for a bit of variety. However, I still miss Sienna and Nomad, and my saddened snuffle has been on the lookout for a possible substitute ever since. And I think this could be it. It's not the same. But it has elements of both, with its own profile too. If you asked me what decade I thought this came from, blind, I would have suggested the '70s or '80s. In fact, it came out in '97 -which amuses me a little when I see it called 'old school' as the eternally modern CK One (a work of marketing and scent genius if ever there was one, as a century from now, it will still seem slightly ahead of the pack) was released three years earlier.Be that as it may, the stylish, lightly frosted glass bottle, evoking ideas of temples in the Indian sub-continent and the surrounding region, and blue-topped cap (a bit flimsy but does the job) are attractive and quite sophisticated. The sprayer is a decent item too -not pressurised, but does its job well. Very well, and you may want to keep this in mind, because you'll also want to go easy: as scents go, this is not a shrinking violet. Siliage is on the higher end, longevity / performance excellent: in the former case you're looking at 3 - 4 hours, in the latter 8 - 10 hours -and my skin is rather unforgiving to many scents, which often disappear quite quickly. No such issue here. The opening is a bright, distinct hit of lemons -citrus, verbena & I suspect there's a bit of lemongrass in there too, whether it's claimed or not as there's just a touch of extra greenery. It lingers in the drydown too into the middle-notes, which are also present in that first arrival: spicy hints of nutmeg and cinnamon, which develop over time with the vanilla and distinct, incense-style woods in the base. It isn't pungent, but leans in that direction (in a positive sense), the citrus notes freshening things enough to stop it getting overpowering. Most people seem to love it: this is a beautifully crafted scent of its type, ideal for autumn, winter and wet springs, which punches far above its price point. In essence, you're getting a high-end niche fragrence here for a relatively affordable price. Highly recommended.

Unforgettable
This aftershave used to be exclusive. Then went out of stock to buy. Now has popped up on Amazon. It is beautiful, a bit musky Quite sweet, not citrus or earthy. You will be complimented by a few.
