Great read for history buffs
Great read especially for anyone interested in what factors led to the American Civil War. The book easily explains the politics of the time and intertwines that effectively with succinct descriptions of the war itself. It’s a well written and easy to read book for the history buff

What we should be teaching in school
Good overview of the events leading up to the Civil War, the real causes, battles and results. A good refresher book for those interested in the subject. Great book for highschooler or first year college students. I am glad to see more history books get into the reality of the Civil war and not the continue to recite the same old things that have been stated since the 1950s. The only state's right in question was the right to own enslaved people and the ability to spread that to new states as they entered the union. Goos read, good information, worth your time.
