The Jesus Bible, ESV Edition, Leathersoft over Board, Pink Imitation Leather – February 11, 2025

I'm so happy I made this purchase! I love the feel of the cover. While it's a hardback cover, it still has that leatherette feel to it. The font is 8.7, which isn't exactly small but I did I wish it was a tad bit bigger, but it's okay. It's a pretty big bible definitely not travel size and it's perfect for bible study. 10/10 for sure

My favorite gift to my daughter!!

Received this Bible packaged with no damage. This Bible book is heavier than my other Bibles that are of the same size. I ordered this one because of the font size (8.5) that it reported and it was in pink. The pink cover is similar to a blush color, so not neon which is great. As I opened the Bible the pages were written in a great font. However, as I got into the verses, and passages, the font changes and it is smaller. The font is so small that I struggle to read it. In regards to my vision, no reading glasses, or eye seeing glasses or needed. So what I did is get a magnifying glass out and then I was able to read the verses. The font is not consistent because there are other pages that have a bigger font and comfortable for reading purposes. The reason for the four (4) stars is that the majority of the pages have a really small font which other reviews have commented on also.

The ESV is my preferred translation, and I thought it was interesting to see an ESV Bible not produced by Crossway, which owns the copyright to this translation. The Bible does give attribution to Crossway, and I thought it was generous of Crossway to allow others to use their translation so more people can access a solid English translation of the Bible. The cover of the Bible does feel cheap, and that's because it is. It's crafted of cheap materials, and as most Bibles are printed cheaply, this did not surprise me. I love the rose gold edges of the pages and love that this version of the Bible helps readers see Jesus in all of Scripture. I think that may be a difficult endeavor for those who are new to the Bible, so I appreciate how helpful and necessary that is. I am a female and am not a huge fan of the color pink. I don't see myself using this Bible, and have mixed feelings about Bibles targeted to males/females because we don't need separate versions of the Bible. However, I know my 9 year old would LOVE this, and because it would be a feature that would make her excited to approach God's word, I don't hate it. If you're looking for a Bible with resources to help you understand how all of Scripture points to Jesus, look no further. This Bible would also be a great gift for a new believer who's learning to read and study Scripture for the first time.

I've read this Book cover to cover several times and I was excited to see this edition of it. It is simple and pretty for gift giving and comes in a sturdy box. The "Leathersoft" cover does have an odor that will hopefully dissipate as it has a chance to air out. There are lots of sidebars and articles that, along with the book introductions, all point to Jesus Christ. The pages have a coppery gilt edge that matches the stylistic cross on the front cover. The Bible is heavy, not one you will want to tuck in your bag for on the go. It doesn't include the usual study Bible helps or features such as cross-references but, where there are no sidebar articles, the margins are nice and wide for your own notes. There are a few pages at the back for notes also, after the Concordance. There are no charts or maps included anywhere. The font is different for the articles, the sidebars, and the Scripture, with the Scripture text being the smallest. I found it clear and readable, but it could be a little larger. It is in the highly-regarded English Standard Version (ESV), which is a word-for-word translation. Overall, it's 3 stars for the physical book and its features, and 5 stars for perspective, with the focus being Christ Jesus on every page of, not just the New Testament, but the Old Testament as well.
