It doesn’t work at all. It might be a scale. I installed it successfully at first. And it seemed like it’s working for without wifi, I can still send one message on my app. However, it just stopped working the next day for no reason. It just say the service is no long available, but I was using the wifi all these time even turned off data to make sure it didn’t switch to dada plan automatically. Don’t recommend to buy it. So sad that it wasted my time and failed my trust.

If you are going to China, you have essentially two ways to stay connected to all the apps and data services that are blocked in China (think Yahoo, all Google services, Facebook, YouTube, Instagram): use a VPN with wifi or with a local Chinese sim, or use a non-Chinese mobile service.VPN use in China tends to be unreliable as the Great Firewall seems to play Whack-a-Mole with the VPNs. In addition, it can be tricky to get wifi access without a local mobile number, so you'd have to get a local sim, which can also be very tricky (in fact, if your phone supports eSim only, you can't get local service at all, as no provider in China uses eSim).Roaming using your US or other mobile provider can be incredibly expensive (one US provider I use charges 2 cents per megabyte, which adds up fast, as a typical web page is on the order of 2 megabytes).The solution is the Happy China eSim. I and the family have used the Happy China sims and eSims several times on both Apple and Android phones even though we have local China Mobile service.
