NOW TV UYH98 Smart Stick with HD & Voice Search

This works as it should but it is very fiddly to get it up and running, it took me two to three hours to work it out. Another thing I should mention is that it comes without instructions as I found out , it is not new someone else has had it I hadn’t realised that when I bought it. It is working fine now and it’s useful for watching films or catching up with missed programs.

The Now TV Smart Stick arrived very quickly. I unpacked it, read the instructions, slotted it into the back of my TV, signed in to Now TV, and off we went. No problems at all, and I don't need a socket as I can plug the cables in my HDMI and USB outlets and it works great. Good picture, sound and more discreet than my old box.

First of all the instruction book says 3 AAA Batteries are included.. Wrong mine were missing. Overall set up was reasonable straightforward and a case of following the on screen instructions. What I wasn't happy about is you're forced to input your card details even if you don't want to subscribe to pay per view / on demand. Although yes I agree you don't have to subscribe and you can cancel anytime. I have a Netflix account and that's all I want to pay for. You get all the free catch up apps including BBC IPlayer ITV Hub All4 Five etc. You can NOT get Amazon Prime video app on this stick. The voice activation is only for paid subscription apps excluding Netflix so unfortunately this feature is useless if you only subscribe to Netflix and not Now TV passes. Having said this the stick is good for Netflix it's good for accessing all the UK catch up channels and the You Tube app is good. Navigation is fine and the user interface is basic but we'll layed out. This is ideal to make your TV into a smart TV and you only need to have a free HDMI input on your TV. It comes with a USB power lead that my TV can then power the stick or a separate power wall adapter if you prefer. Picture quality is very good and I'd say its DVD quality. Overall I'm happy with this stick for the price I paid. It is WiFi only and no ethernet socket is available. If you want to convert your TV to a smart TV and have access to catch up tv Netflix sky movies and additional TV channels such as discovery UK gold sky one etc this is all possible with this stick. Set up took approximately 15 minutes.

The component worked well

Total rubbish. Finally opened box after leaving in box for a month. Set up was easy and it worked for a week - until the Amazon return window closed - then no longer opens Netflix, Disney, Now, nothing. Amazon won’t accept return even though item is faulty. Even if I had used the item for 6 weeks I should be able to return it if it does not work. AVOID this is a waste of £99!

This was so easy to set up on my TV, picture is very good and after no TV from 10th August, due to Bilsdale mast fire, it was so nice to be able to watch tv again, Well worth the money,

Hi, I am 88 and made a bit of a hash of trying to set it up. The NOW team did their best to help me, but in the end I had my local T/V man come and do it for me. It is working very well ( I have Sport only at the moment) including the voice recognition, probably because I have an up to date T/V. I have the BT system, and it certainly saves ripping that all out to install full Sky system. Terry K.

Simple and easy to use device, quick to install just plug it in.Nice having the extras built in.Voice recognition is good, you do need to speak very clearly though.Otherwise a great little device
