Excellent replacement for a failed quartz mechanism
I got this to replace a failed mechanism in a clock that I really liked. In truth, I was glad to have an excuse: I wanted the radio-control anyway. It has been a great success. The clock picks up time from the MSF signal with no difficulty, even here in the eastern side of Ireland and it keeps time absolutely perfectly. The second hand sweeps continuously (rather than stepping every second in the more usual way). As a result, it is completely silent. I don't know yet what that will mean for battery life.Fitting was straightforward. The instructions could be better, but really its not that complicated. It is about the same size and shape as the original mechanism, so it really was a drop-in replacement. So far, I'm delighted with it. If it continues to work as well as it has so far and doesn't chew through batteries, I will regard it as just about perfect.Update after 18 months: Still going strong on the original set of batteries. I’m delighted.

Good replacement
I had a clock with a damaged battery contact which I suspect occurred over the two decades removing and replacing the battery, but the clock was otherwise perfectly fine. Tried repairing the contact but difficult to find suitable metal clip so decided to replace the whole movement and discovered these radio controlled movements.Easy to set up, once you've constructed the mechanism with the choice of hands that come in the pack, or reuse original clock hands if they fit the new spindle, set hands on the spindle at 12:00 position, put clock back together. Insert battery and hang the clock and as soon as the clock receives a radio signal, (mine took around 60s), it's fun to watch the hands perform a full 12 hour rotation, stop, and then set itself to the correct time.Make sure when you order a mechanism you check the length and diameter of the new spindle is the same as the one you're replacing.Spindle diameter too large and you'll have to increase the hole in the clock face.Spindle length too short and the hands will rest on the clock face.Spindle too long and the spindle and hands will rest against clock glass and or you won't be able to attach the mechanism onto the back of the clock.

Brilliant. Quick repair.
I brought this to repair a clock mechanism we have had for years. The clock was not a direct copy of the original mechanism. The shaft was slightly longer so fitted a spacer behind the thread.I found my hour hand did not slide on to the shaft so very careful took a fraction off the shaft so it would slide on, the minute and second hand slide directly on. With the pin in the back it’s easy to line all hands to 12 number of the clock. Then pull out the pin and inserted the battery. The clock went right around to 12 again and stopped on 12 o’clock. Removed battery again replaced and did the same then a short while after set itself to the time. 🕰️ welcome back old clock. Took minutes to change over now I have my kitchen clock working. Might last another 15 years.

Waste of money
Allowed to set itself, installed that hands at the current time, thinking it will continue to keep time from there but no... It looses time and then decides to adjust itself again to the wrong time...untter rubbish.

Good quality with easy installation and setup
Good instructions, accurate measurements allowed easy installation into existing opening. Remember to install all fittings and set clock fingers to 12 before removing small pin which releases the fingers and then install battery. Works a treat and keeping excellent time. would definitely buy again.

Replacement Radio Controlled Ticking Quartz Clock Movement Mechanism.
Purchased to replace a failed manual (battery) movement in a precious carriage clock. Very easy to install and set up following enclosed instructions, now keeps exceptionally accurate time. TIP: Do not remove the metal pin in the back of the movement until you have fitted the hands and set them all to the (12 o'clock position) as clearly stated in the instructions!! Can't fault the product or seller, 5*****
