Must-have Brain Quest! These are incredible and fun!
Brain Quest is a must-have! My kiddos love, love, love these workbooks! I’ve been using them for many years now. My oldest is graduating and headed to the university with a 4.3 GPA and he used them, my daughter is 13 and on the honor roll. Yep, she used them too. My younger two kiddos (now 1st and 3rd graders) have used these since Pre-K. We homeschool them, and I use the Brain Quest workbooks and resources for them as well to break up the screen usage and facilitate writing skills for all subjects. They love the fun colors, vivid illustrations, and the sticker maps charting their success promoted them to continue their work until the end of each segment. They’re even willing to work in these on long trips to visit family! I’ve used both the old and new editions, and the summer editions for next grade prep during the breaks. Hear me when I tell you that Brain Quest never disappoints. Now, I’ve even begun using them to press the kids forward a grade. I recommend partnering BQ with your lesson plans to ensure thorough explanations and understanding of the subject matter if your child(ren) do not have previous exposure to the content. These books don’t do the work for you, but they definitely make studying fun and provide excellent opportunities to exercise a working knowledge of the material per grade level. Learning is fun with these resources and so is teaching. Get yours now!

Colorful; Easy 2 Read; Fun Themes; Larger Print; Years’ Worth of Math; Advance Concepts
What am I reviewing?I had opportunity to select and review Brain Quest’s Math Workbook 4 children; ages 7 – 8; in Grade 2.Immediate thoughts? This is colorful, easy to read, cute, and fun book crammed with different themes and loads of addition, subtraction, place value, money, measurement, time, data and geometry challenges. The text arrives with mini smart cards, fund stickers, a progress map; and an award certificate.Adult supervision? As a parent, I personally opine that it is best to participate. To review the day’s lesson; give encouragement, time, monitor, review, and, at time, assist. Do I have to, not always and not on every point mentioned. How much is provided?A full year of math exercises and activities are provided in the book.Laid-out.Everything is clearly laid-out, simple words and cute illustrations, which make this interesting and fun for viewing, reading, and completing. Although the themes are simple, it resonates with me, as I admire the illustrations, and go with the whimsical flow of words, systems, equations, thoughts, challenges, and responses, through each page. I relate to the feelings, emotions, thoughts, experiences, and the efforts that a child must work through and what is being conveyed. Math can be tedious and more. This breaks down the complexity and offers systems to solving.IllustrationsThe illustrations are fun, colorful, clean, concise, simple, yet some are complicated and well thought out, they are also adult aged appropriate and thought provoking.ConsiderationsI cannot think of much. The problem solving that must take place, are not always easy, however the words are simple, and the illustrations are engaging. How was this receivedNot independently packaged nor sealed, rather, loose, which I really did not care for, as it had some bent pages….Describe the bookThis softcover book has a wonderfully illustrated cover, there was no dust jacket. This has an average number of pages, for a math workbook, at about (160) pages.MeasurementsThe book is more oversized, than not, and measures (8½”) wide, (11”) tall, and just “under” (½”) thick, of which the front and back boards take little of thickness.WeightThe book weighs in at (480) grams, which is about just over one (1) pound.Colorful? It’s a very colorful book.Pages? The pages are wonderfully thin to medium thick, matte finish, near slick, pages, a somewhat thick, stiff, cardboard/paperboard type of hard covering, and a simple, classic non-cloth spine.Text? The text is on the above average size side, against a multitude of colors; the text is either clear and or somewhat bright. The size of the type, for me, is not on the small side, but the look of the fonts is perfect. I think this a very high-quality book. Why was this published? It’s about assisting second graders on their quest for knowledge, the subject being math. From cover to cover, this brilliant, fun, immersive, and colorful book brings simple problem-solving skills forward; discovering age-appropriate concepts; promote critical thinking, bringing forward creative problem-solving skills; encouraging persistence at the task at hand; and trying to instill a love for learning.ValueWith all this offers, I feel I have received solid value.I am very pleased to have selected this.Publishing dateThis book’s copyright year is 2024, it’s year of publishing. It’s publishing date being July 2024. I received this days after release, so, burning hot off the press.Printed where?Printed in ChinaPrinted priceThe printed retail price, noted on the outside back cover is $10.99 U.S.A. | $13.99 CanadaKindle?Yes, available.Audiobook? No, it would defeat the purpose of this book too.Library of Congress?I did not see such, however, there are ISBN numbers.PublisherIt’s published by Workman PublishingIs it fiction? No, it’s a math workbookMain characters? The characters who guide the student through the book.Supporting character? The child going through this workbook. Please refer to Amazon for pics of this copywritten work.I was excited to select this, I have no significant negative comments.I hope my thoughts added information.

Good for learning and refresh
We got this for our son who is going to TK and also for our son who is going to third grade. Our son that is going to third grade is using it as a way to refresh what he has learned and he went tyhrough pretty easy. The one in TK on the hand is obviously struggling, but we are using it in a way for him to at least get some idea how the math works. There are some great pictures, good clarification, and examples and such. It’s a pretty good book overall.

Great supplementary math book
This is a great book to have as a second grade math primer, and/or as a way to expand upon work done in class. Most pages only have 4-6 problems and can be completed rather quickly, which makes it easier to get my child to actually use the book. It contains most of the concepts that are covered in second grade. Because my son doesn't get homework from school, we like to use this a couple of times a week for him to get practice outside of class. I recommend this as an inexpensive tool to help your child learn/retain math concepts!

Great summer refresher
This has been great to do a couple pages each week through the summer break to try to not only keep the kids fresh, but to keep the habit of "homework" through the break to minimize the transition of going back to school.I felt like there was a nice variety and pretty good instructions. My daughter actually seemed to enjoy many of the pages. I'll definitely buy this brand again.
