Incredible beauty and quality
If knife sets could go to heaven based on merit, I think these would make it. These are definitely a cloud-9 kitchen experience! I simply could not ask for more in a knife set. Aesthetically, these are beautiful in every way. I love the blue and black layered handles. Even up close, the handles are gorgeous and well made. They have the classic Japanese style octagonal grip. They are no flaws, cracks, bends, discoloration, scratches, gaps, or rough spots. The knife block is made of Maple hardwood (my personal favorite) and has a very practical design. Because of it's non obtrusive front-leaning design, this block can be put on a deep drawer instead of on the counter if you'd rather. I prefer my knives in their own special drawer, in a flat knife block. Now, the blades of these knives, being the most important part, is beyond worthy of the artistic handles. The x-7 Damascus steel used to make these knife blades is incredible. If you want the best, these are it. I've looked up chef reviews on these and they have pretty high reviews. The only negative was that the company is considered still fairly new being started in 2015 but they are satisfactorly impressed with the performance of these knives. Well, that would surely top my opinion! I'm not a chef by any means but I have 30+ solid years of kitchen commitment and experience. I've used so many types and brands of knives that I can easily get rid of a knife of it has even one neusance about it. I butcher chicken, sheep, cows, & pigs, plus I can my garden produce, bake bread, filet fish, and cook cook cook! So, I'm no novice to the understanding of why a quality knife is a kitchen necessity. These Cangshan Kita knives are now my right hand kitchen soldiers. The blades hold an edge very well and the blade shape for every knife, so far, have obviously been designed with thorough functional consideration. I use every knife in this set (and I'm very glad there are bone shears included). These are rather expensive, but they are worth the investment, especially when your break down the cost and realize how long you'll be using kitchen knives. It's a waste to get substandard knives if you "live" in your kitchen.

Beautiful and very functional
The first thing I must say about these knives is that they are absolutely beautiful! The blue handles, matching blue block, and Damascus steel blades are an amazing combination. That said, this isn’t even the best part of the knives. The knives are extremely sharp and very comfortable to use. I am a pretty experienced cook and prep food all of the time so using a sharp knife is crucial. These knives fit that need perfectly.Going back to the design, the block is relatively small for the knives included which is nice because I don’t like huge blocks taking up lots of space on my counter. The block is only about 2 inches in depth which fits two rows of knives and the shears. The footprint of the block is pretty small relative to the quantity of knives included. The set comes with three knives, a honing steel rod, and shears. The knives that are included in this set are your typical and most used Chef’s knife, as well as a serrated utility knife and a paring knife. The Chef’s knife is the one I use almost daily and after about a month, it is still as sharp as it was on day one. The grip on the knives are very comfortable and ergonomic for long time use. My food prep periods last about an hour so I can confirm extended periods remain comfortable. My largest complaint is that this set does not come with a set of matching steak knives. For the price of this set, which is $350 at the time of writing this review, I would have liked to see at least 4, maybe 6 steak knives. In addition, there are also no slots for steak knives so if you were to purchase them separately, there is no place to include them on this block. Cangshan does of course have other options for this series with more knives so if steak knives are necessary for you, you may need to look at a different set.Overall I am very happy with the Cangshan KITA knife set. The Chef’s knife and shears on their own are completely worth it but with the including paring and utility knife, you can prep almost anything. The price is absolutely worth it for the quality and style of these knives so if you are in the market for a high quality knife set, look no further as these are amazing.
