Easy-to-use joist protection
Really, it's hard to say just how well this stuff does its job unless and until you can take the structure apart years later and find out. So, I'll have to base this review on ease of application and perceived utility.The 2"-wide roll nicely fits a 2x4 edge-on, with a bit of wrap-around on the edges.The butyl rubber does seem to form a tough water barrier. Dragging boards on top of it to position them didn't tear or stretch it. The adhesive is aggressive, but comes off the roll easily enough, as it has a thin plastic peel-off layer to keep it from sticking to itself. Application was easy enough by myself; long strips were best handled, with a minimum of fuss, by two persons.I figure this is a relatively inexpensive bit of protective insurance to apply to wooden joistwork, and well worth the effort.

Gets the job done
Rebuilt deck over walkout basement. Had never used this product before. Research said it was needed to protect joists. This tape was very sticky and appropriate thickness. Went on easy and used regular household scissors to cut when needed. One year in and everything seems to be holding up well.

Work as intended
I actually really like this tape compared to what the big box stores have in stock. THIS IS WAY CHEAPER than buying in the store. It is also pretty heavy so if you have free amazon shipping it makes it worth the price. I've used about half of the 10 rolls and it has worked great. Make sure your work surface is free and clear of any dust, it sticks ok to these surfaces but is much better if you have a clean surface. It's pretty sticky but not the MOST sticky of this tape that I have used in the past. It will serve its purpose to protect my deck framing.This picture is our deck in process. As you can see we needed quite a bit of this tape so buying in bulk was key to saving $.
