Expect the unexpected
This book talks about a social issue and the stigmas that are attached to it. Though there are ammended rules but not ammended thoughts.A beautiful heart touching story dealing with a sensitive but an important social issue . This book is based on real events where a husband lost his wife at a very young age with a toddler in tow. Unable to deal with loneliness, work, a house to run and looking after a child. He was not performing well in the office as well. So his boss referred him a caretaker. With the coming of the caretaker things became easy and organised. He started performing well in his work also. His son was also fond of the caretaker and started calling her mamma. But here the story has a twist. Talking more about it will be a spoiler. But it will take you to a varied range of emotions. Make you feel jittery. Open your eyes to a section of people who needs your acceptance and love. They too have a heart and that beats. This book is a quick read and it's more like a journey for me to a different world. And the writer has also crafted the story so beautifully that eventually you will have a hangover ......

Wonderful book
The book story starts with the first page itself with Abhay and Kanika. yes, it's a story of their life with a little prince Ayush.Abhay had dreamt of becoming a Bollywood actor but he works in a company. From college till her last breath Kanika supports her husband Abhay.Newly a new character in Abhay's life "Sheetal", Ayush calls her Mumma..so the story now moves towards Sheetal, how society sees her? and how she became one in Abhay's family. Whether Sheetal will be Ayush's mother forever?..with so many questions I just sat with a book which made me finish in two days. I think I read the third book of the author he never disappoints me with his words. As always fast-paced, and the language is very lucid, making me stick to the book, every page makes me get into the book, and start visualising the story with them as an invisible person...Wonderful message and great endThank you so much for giving us always an unexpected gift.

Good
The copy of “An Unexpected Gift” arrived in my post during my birthday month, and I was excited to read it, seeing the delightful cover page. The book touches on realistic topics like the difficulties a single parent faces amidst work, bittersweet memories of the past, and the pain of coming to terms with a broken dream. In a society where men are typically expected to be tough, it was refreshing to see a realistic character like Abhay deal with his inner struggles. Apart from the main characters, secondary characters like Mohan made me giggle with his typical desi jasoosi ways in the initial chapters. The narrative style is simple, yet it keeps the reader engaged in the storyline. The story redefines the concept of motherhood by blurring the lines between gender and expectations. The climax was quite unexpected, and suddenly the book title made sense.“A pen is mightier than a sword." Ajay K. Pandey has remarkably used his narrative talent to emphasize the challenges faced by the third gender.Overall, without any unnecessary embellishments, the book leaves a profound message to the reader about societal prejudice and the transformative power of love and acceptance.
