I've owned a few cooling stands over the years. When my last one died, I almost ordered another cheap plastic one, until I spotted this one. I liked the sleek design, and that it was made of aluminum, rather than plastic. I could tell it was a high quality item after it arrived. Nice weight & feel to it, very solid. Love the adjustable height and angle. Fan works great, too. Perfect for my needs and definitely worth paying a little extra for!

I'm happy with my laptop cooling stand! My work laptop is heavy and heats up quickly when I run programs, but this stand has kept it cool so far. It holds the weight well, has great cooling capacity, and the adjustable height is a big plus. This is definitely a must-have for my laptop!

This stand is strong and and it's very quiet on the low setting. The height and angle is adjustable so I am able to use it in line with the height of my other monitors. My work laptop is very heavy and gets very hot but this has kept it cool so far, as long as I remember to turn it on every time, and after I made a slight alteration. You need to pay attention to where the vents are on your laptop. The fan is in the center and the surface is flat. My vents are not in the center, so it blocks my vents and ended up making the fan ineffective and actually made it overheat worse. When I realized this, I put two small lifters at the back of the plate to lift the back of my laptop about 1/4" off the flat surface to give it some breathing room. Now it's fantastic. I do not regret this buy and I'm happy with it, but it could use a design improvement or at least some optional attachable lifters at the back to let the laptop breathe. I doubt many laptop vents are going to alighn perfectly with this fan.

I was surprised at how well the SHUWEI cooling stand works (better than expected). I use a Surface Pro 9 w a dock and two 34in ultrawide monitors. Before; the system would begin to overheat then struggle with Teams calls and/or heavy apps etc.. Now; I can take Teams calls, leave my most used apps open (Excel, Outlook, Bloomberg Terminal, XMind, Opera, Edge), across three different Windows desktops (Win button + tab), present etc. and the system doesn't miss a beat. Additionally, I just leave the fan at the lowest setting and it's barely audible. As you increase the speed it gets louder and at the highest setting it's a few clicks below noisy (I doubt you would ever need to go that high). The stand itself is of high quality brushed aluminum with chrome bolts, it's super durable, feels expensive and looks great.

I picked this cooling pad mainly because it was the only one that wasn’t a hideously ugly slab of cheap black plastic. It is an attractive, minimalist metal hinge design, and that part of it is well-designed and sturdy. The problem is that the fan underneath has the charging port facing forward - forcing the power to protrude out the front when it could be neatly tucked behind. Worse, the power buttons for the fan and light are awkwardly located behind the juncture of the power cord connector and the housing, effectively blocking your fingers from reaching them without much stooping and fumbling. This would be somewhat less of an issue if you plan to keep the hinge more “open” with you keyboard inclined at a steep angle, but I like mine as flat as possible so getting to those buttons is a major pain. I’ll add that the plastic fun mounted underneath seems pretty flimsy and is quite loud on the medium and high speeds. Overall though, it is effectively cooling my MacBook Pro so it has stopped its daily afternoon overheating. In summary, the aesthetic design is good while the functional design is lacking. 3.5 stars.(NOTE: The USB-C power cord that was included was defective - and went right into the trash. I had lots of other ones hanging around though so this review doesn’t penalize for that.)

This is definitely a need for my laptop. I have a large laptop and it holds its weight very well, and it’s extremely sturdy. I like the fact it comes with a tool to tighten the bolts, and the fan has three settings and is very quiet as well. I love the color, and it’s definitely compact if you need to take it on the go.

Solid construction; however, the base of mine is warped, so it rocks back and forth. The fan is quiet until you place a laptop on the stand, then you hear a whining noise coming from the fan. While I would not call the former two deal breakers, what is a deal breaker is the notches used to retain the laptop on the stand—they are way too tall. So, it prevents you from using the keyboard on the laptop as the metal hits the base of your palms. I would recommend another option for those looking at laptop cooling stands.
