I use these 3/4 inch foot valves & other similar valves on outdoor terminations of drain lines for air conditioners & appliance drain pans. After removing the backflow prevention valve, the screening keeps unwanted critters from wandering up the drain lines. These devices are functionally well made & work well in my application; the only downside is the lack of proper machine finishing. All three edges of the brass body are sharp, lacking proper camfering to the point they could slice plastic tubing or skin. This can be remedied in a few minutes with a fine tooth file but an extra ten seconds on the production machine that smooths the body would make this a non-issue.

It does not screw cleanly on to a hose, but otherwise works pretty good. I can easily prime the pump/hose now as it leaks very slowly due to poor threading/fit on standard hose
