We got this shower valve to replace an older, "intelligent" one, that was driving us mad. We wanted a manual, no frills mixer valve with nothing to go wrong.In this respect this valve is perfect, very smooth, very light touch, beautiful polished chrome. I am enjoying my showers again. So my review ought to be 5 star. Except the installation.While installing, it is impossible to get a good seal on the faceplate/plastic base and water will run into the back of the wall where the shower valve body is placed. The designers expect this to happen and the seal has a gap at the bottom to let the water out. If you have built this valve into a masonry wall you may never realise. If like me, you are mounting this tap on a 10mm tile panel backed up by 12mm plywood, very common arrangement with partition walls, you can then see there is no way to get a good seal and water does in fact trickle into the back of the wall.This is because 2 machine screws are not enough to ensure a tight fit of the very large faceplate onto the wall, and will not compress the seal evenly enough so as to make it watertight. The whole plastic frame distorts. The bathroom tiles have to be smooth, mirror perfect, with no grout lines. Unfortunately, my wall is covered with a mosaic shower tile panel and water seeps in through the grout indentations, and easily past the rubber seal.There is very little clearance between the mounting, machine screw lags and the valve body, which then requires sub-mm precision on the cutout to allow for the valve and screws to all line up through the wall and still provide a robust fix. In the case of partition walls I presume most installers will depend on the copper pipes to hold the valve in position and will not realise that their "seal" is worth naught.The lever is attached very weakly with a plastic insert and requires the valve to be in the (fully) open position to be removed.

It comes more as a kit of parts than a single shower valve. the pictures-only assembly diagrams are not the easiest to follow and one assembly step is missed out. The Eurostyle's light construction would not survive rough treatment i.e. the operating handle is fixed to a small plastic connector that could be easily damaged.Ignore Amazon's web page recommendation of two 3/8 to 1/2 inch pipe connectors, it requires three 1/2 inch connectors.

Cast and machined brass fitting with easy to install service and access parts. Think the tile shroud is mostly unnecessary and you don't need the tile cut out as big as the shroud to get a good fit. Very happy.

Very pleased with my new shower mixer lever.Even the plumber made some approving grunts.
