Got these for "just in case" there is a nuclear war somewhere in the world or a nuclear reactor somehow releases its contents. The pills are taken to prevent radioactive iodine present in the environment from being taken up by the thyroid. If taken properly when needed, this would greatly reduce the probability of long-term damage from radioactive iodine (like thyroid cancer). Convenient size for swallowing. Highly recommend.
