Good product; didn't realize there was a 15 minute limit
I think this is a really good product. It is durable and easy to setup and use. I feel like the step height is much shorter than I was expecting and the adjustment knob doesn't really have a large impact, but I still find the device to be useful. One thing might be helpful for other shoppers is that the manual recommends not using the stepper for more than 15 minutes at a time with a 30 minute cool-down between use to avoid burning out the hydraulic cylinders. This might impact your planned work outs with the device.

Get this! (Squeaking can be fixed with WD-40.)
I am so glad I purchased this! I was a bit worried about the squeaking people seemed to have occasionally mentioned. Some have said WD-40 works perfectly, so I'll be using that if the time comes. I'd like to add that the booklet it comes with also mentions that it should be greased up about once a month. So to any of you who are experiencing squeaking, or are afraid of it, there's an easy fix! Now onto the review!Assembly: This was super easy to put together. The only thing you have to do is lift a pedal from the edge closest to you, then attach the cord onto the pulley beneath it. Then screw in the tension knob. The tracker comes with a battery, so put that in, then you slide the tracker onto the thin stick piece in-between the two pedals. The rubber bands clip-and-screw onto loops above the pedals. It took less than 2 minutes to put together!Workout: It definitely gets your heart racing after just a minute of stepping. The machine resembles walking up the stairs, rather than running like a full-size elliptical simulates. The machine gives a great cardio workout without damaging your joints. I normally like to run 3 miles every other day, but this will be replacing that since I want to spare my knees and hips. The resistance bands add to arm training as well, and I really like that. The lowest tension setting is probably enough for most people to get a solid workout. As you're standing on it, you have to push your feet down, but not too hard. Once you get momentum going, it'll feel like you're running up some stairs. I'm 108 pounds, so maybe it's just because I don't add a lot of weight onto the pedals, but I personally really like having to push my legs down to get it to move. This isn't like an exercise bike with the lowest tension where sometimes the pedals move before you do! It's not hard, though. I don't want to discourage anyone from buying this. If you've been on any sort of elliptical, you'll probably know what I mean. But at the same time, I don't think this would work if you're sitting down.(Side-note) I can work out for an hour and experience no problem. If you got the booklet that says 15 minutes, the actual company says to ignore that, and do your workout for as long as you'd like.Size: It's bigger than I thought, but it's not a problem to store away. It's short enough to store under beds and maybe some couches, and definitely small enough to put in a closet. And if you must, you can always stack things on top of it if you're low on space.Overall, I really like this product. I'm glad I purchased it. I will definitely purchase another one if I have to at some point!UPDATE: I have thousands of steps on this thing already, and no squeak! I generally workout for an hour, sometimes one and a half, so ignore the 15 minute disclaimer from the booklet. I'm a tiny person anyway, but I was so surprised when I lost a half-inch in my waist and a full inch in my thighs! This thing is probably my greatest purchase in a long time. It's so easy on my joints and I'm very grateful for that. Just a little tip though, it takes a minute for it to warm up. It might seem a bit stiff at first, but it's loosened in less than a song's length! BUY THIS.

How to use the adjustment knob
Seems to work okay, first day.For those that are having trouble adjusting height --my stepper would not adjust, as others have had problems. Turns out, the main "pivot" bolt was way too tight. The way adjustment works, you are supposed to be able to adjust the pivot up and down by turning a hand knob, which slides the whole pivot assembly up and down. That pivot assembly pivots about a central bolt, which comes super tight. I used a 16mm wrench to loosen it a half a turn or so, such that tightening the top hand knob raises the pivot assembly. I wasn't sure if the knob was designed to carry the actual load, so I tightened it again once I had the height I wanted.

Doesn't take up alot of room
I live in a small home and I needed some exersice equipment that wouldn't take up alot of space. This is perfect for me. I really enjoy using it and the free app is very nice. It can give you quite a workout. The only issue I have come across so far is getting the phone to bring up the app on the TV, but that is more than likely my issue and not the app. There are alot of exercise routines and they are catagorized by beginner, intermediate and advanced. There are also just scenery shots you can use if you just want to do a casual or intense workout. So far I am very happy with my purchase, but if something changes I will update my review.

Effective and Cheap
UPDATE 12/28/16: I have now had this machine for over 9 months. I have to say it does get me a work out and it does help me loose the water weight but overall this did not get my tummy to my goal level. I brought down the rating from 4 to 3 stars because after some time the machine became extremely noise! I have to out wd40 on the aides every night twice so the noise stops. The part where the feet go also because very loose. However those are problems that are fixed if you maintain the machine. Overall I think it still works. I never use used the strings it comes with. It is good for the price and helps me maintain on my current weight.Alrighty! When I decided to buy this I was originally looking for a small machine that was not too heavy and not too noisy. This fit the criteria perfectly. It is small enough to fit under a chair or under my bed and it does not make too much noise. It does give you a small workout and it makes you sweat. This machine can be used while watching television and I loved it for it. After an hour I feel tired and I have been using it for a few weeks now (1 hour a day for 5 days) and my legs do hurt a little. This is not a machine that will give you a whole body workout, but it will get your started. Only reason I gave it 4/5 was because of the wooshing noise mine makes that I still have no idea how to fix.Pros: small, movement helps your legs, good cardio workoutCons: my machine does make a small noise. After 30 minutes or so it begins to make a small wosshing noise every time I step down. It almost sounds like wind.FYI: If you live in an apartment located upstairs and you believe this machine makes noise for the people downstairs it might. I live on hte second floor and the first couple of days my neighbor kept banging on her ceiling because my machine was making noise. I fixed this by putting a towel underneath it and sense then it's all good. Also if the machine squeaks just use some WD40 on the joints and it will fix it. This can be found at Walmart for like $4.
