starts easy with just propane
Some reviews say it's hard to start with just propane and to start with gasoline. Luckily, a more experienced generator user told me to just use propane and avoid the dirty stinky gas that can foul plugs and carbs.I've only used it once, but it started right up following the LPG start instructions: 2 pull on choke, then pull it on regular run. You'll need to buy a quart of 5-30 motor oil, and pour in just under half a quart. Of course you need to buy a propane supply- like the 4 gallon propane tank that you have with your grill. I like to buy a new one and fill it myself. Lots of Uhaul dealers sell propane to pump into your tank. It's cheaper than doing the tank exchange, and you keep your nice new tank- not trading it for a painted rusty one.All you need is the generator, the tank (fill it with propane) and 5-30 motor oil. And an extension cord. The generator comes with a propane hose that has a regulator already attached. The hose has nipples on each end, so you do not want to use any tape on the threads.2 more FYI:I was worried about purging the new propane tank of regular air or nitrogen if it was packaged with nitrogen. (I thought maybe that's why some people had trouble starting with propane- it wasn't pure enough). To purge, just get the tank filled with propane. Then go home and with the tank knob turned closed, attach the generator supplied hose to the tank, but leave the small end unattached. Aim the hose away (outdoors, of course) and open the tank knob for 5 seconds. Do this 2- 4 times to get rid of air and moisture in the air. Now attach the hose to the generator.Put a little soapy water around connections to look for leaks of bubbles. The last FYI is there is a nut on the generator for a ground wire. This is just if you are tying the generator into your home electric panel fuse/ breaker box. Doesn't do a thing if you are just running an extension cord to a few appliances. In fact, in that instance, or camping, a grounding rod mildly adds to your danger with some electricity in the ground where you are standing to possible complete the circuit .Thanks to the prepper I ran into at Uhaul propane filling station.I was ignorant this morning. Now, you and I are both experts.

2 Fridges, TV, Laptop, Lights, Chargers
This is one mighty little generator. I use only LPG (Propane), and this was the perfect choice for the price. Other reviews say that its hard to start on LPG, and you have to add gas for the first start. I disagree! If you follow the instructions for LPG, Set Dial Choke 2 pulls, Run 2 pulls, and repeat. Started and ran great after the second set of pulls, and the hair dryer ran (1875 watts= 14/15 Amps) without barely increasing engine speed, and this was on low Idle. I can run everything in my Headline at one time. However, running all these consumes too much fuel. Have to run one fridge 2-3 hours, 2nd fridge 2-3 hours, and the Generator never goes over a 50% load. One BBQ size Propane tank, (20 Lb) can last anywhere from 6-8 hours. A good fridge can last almost 24 Hrs before meat in the freezer start to defrost significantly. I don't let it get that far, but over night when its cooler, no problem. Plus you and your neighbors can sleep! Please make sure you use a good quality 12 gauge extension cord. 14/16 gauge is too light weight for a fridge. With Running/Starting Watts on Propane, lower than gas, Propane never goes bad! Gas starts to degrade in 3-6 months. Propane is the way to go, much cleaner running engine/carburetor. Note, that this Generator is for emergency outages only, and wont run a HVAC unit, or Heat Pump. Just basic essentials like Fridges, Lights, TV, Laptop, and USB chargers for phones etc.. With a few Propane tanks, versus Gas cans, you should be able to get through a normal power outage. What is Normal? 12/24/48 Hours at most. Other than that, you'll need an unlimited supply of Gas or Propane. This Generator is also quieter than others, I believe similar to a Honda of this size, at 1/3rd the cost. I only plan to use this for emergency purposes. Yet I did order replacement Spark plugs, Oil Funnel, Oil, (I use 5W30 Synthetic) as small generators like this require good maintenance. Good luck to all.

First impressions were good
This was just delivered today. Packaging, build quality, extra goodies- all good. The real review is… I unboxed it, put oil in it, pulled the chord slowly a few times to lube the inner’s, hooked my propane tank to it with the included hose. Here is the important part - with propane, once you pull a few times with the switch in start(choke) move the switch to run! One more pull in run and she fired right up!Nice and quiet. So far so good!

Dual fuel generator
Because I require oxygen, a reliable generator is a necessity for us. We had a failure with our gas generator and decided we would go propane and it started right up. Love it.

Will not start with propane only
Bought this because we didn’t want to store gasoline. Extremely difficult to start on propane. After many attempts it did start on propane one time. Now it will not start using propane only. Very disappointed. Instruction book does say that if it won’t start on propane to use gas to start. We have another dual fuel generator different brand that starts with propane no problem.

Great With Propane
It works like a champ.

Using it with propane only
The media could not be loaded. Just using on propane, when you pull start on propane, set the choke at the halfway mark will take a few pulls ,but works great, and quiet
